Hopefully in this series we will get to know them
Well,I always think that you get enough information from the blurb anything more ruins it ,at least for me it does.I want to find out for myself.
It's a great book a joy to read and after you read this series read her four season series it's a good series as well.
And leave a honest review it helps the author.💖
I had read Alora Kate's Four Season's series (which I adored) and could not wait to read this new series. This book had me hooked from the first chapter. I could not put it down, the characters were great and I just wanted to keep reading so that I could see what was going to happen to them. I loved this story and all the characters, I can't wait to read more of The Aster Lake Series.
For me, this book is just the right mix of romance, suspense, and even a little comedy. The beginning starts off suspenseful, and I found myself very curious to find out why Adalyn was having to start her life over somewhere new. Things calm down for a little while as Adalyn settles herself into a small town with a lake, surrounded by mountains. However, the suspense picks back up later and then I was in for a bit of an emotional roller-coaster ride.
Wow. What a cast of characters! I love them all and they are very well-written. Adalyn is one of the main characters and the story is centered around her and Rudd. Margie, Madi, and Bailey are probably my top three side characters. Also, I have to say that I love Madi so much! She is Adalyn's new friend and she is so funny. I was really excited to see that the next book in this series will be about her. Yay!
The story is told from both Adalyn and Rudd's point of view, which worked really well for me. Plus, Adalyn's point of view was the only one in first person. It was a little different, but between that and the clearly marked transitions, it helped me keep it straight.
There were some grammatical hiccups that disrupted my reading, but it wasn't excessive. All in all, this is a wonderful story. I look forward to the next book in The Aster Lake series!
*Please note that I did receive a gifted copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. It didn't alter my opinion of the book in any way.
The main character of the story, is Adalyn. Not a common name, different than other stories.
Adalyn has lived with her parents in mainly a sheltered life, not experiencing much that life has to offer. Adalyn never thought much of it. Adalyn's parents one day come to tell her to leave, drop the car, get a new car down the road, find some place you like to live. Don't ever contact us again. How does one young lady do that? Adalyn's parent's gave her no other instructions other than to leave. She doesn't know what to do. The beginning starts off suspensfull, as we don't know why her parent's told her to leave.
Adalyn winds up in a small town that has 999 people living there. Adalyn finds work at a small mom & pop hardward store, where she instantly connects with their daughter, Madi, who is loud & extermely outgoing. As Madi has lived in the small town her whole life she helps find Adalyn a small apartment connected to a town's police officer, Rudd Archer. Who is quite in his own right. Rudd has a vocabulary of few words. I wish he wasn't as rude / harsh with his language back to Adalyn and others. Adalyn & Rudd are instantly drawn to each other.
Adayln begins to cook for an elderly widow neighbor, who at first is very harsh with her, but, then he loves her cooking and begins to pay for meals from her. Adayln doesn't want to take his money of course, but, they do work out a trade.
The language at some parts I didn't enjoy, some F you's, and a few other words, I didn't think were necessary.
