Forever Hope is a powerful and poignant story of a cancer patient's journey through diagnosis, treatment and recovery, and the strength to face each day guided by her faith in God. As a fellow cancer survivor and a chief executive officer of one of the nation's largest healthcare systems, I can attest to the fears, emotions and challenges of being diagnosed with cancer that Laura Shook so eloquently captures in Forever Hope. This book is a 'must read' for any cancer patient or individual supporting a loved one with cancer. --Dan Wolterman, President and CEO, Memorial Hermann Healthcare System
Laura has faced the giant. This book chronicles her battle with faith in our powerful God. Laura peels back the curtain and lets her reader observe the details of her fight. All said, this is an intimate story of faith that ends with victory! --Dr. Ed Young, Senior Pastor, Second Baptist Church, Houston, Texas
Having led Marines into the 'Valley of the Shadow of Death,' I thought I knew a little about courage, faith, and strength of character. I then read Laura Shook's remarkable book, Forever Hope, and realized that Marines have no 'lock' on those traits. Laura expertly brings the reader into her world of fear and faith, of battling and believing, and finally into understanding the power of prayer and the healing hand of God. I could not put the book down. --Charles C. Krulak, General, USMC (Ret.) 31st Commandant of the Marine Corps
