From the Author
All of those things operated on two different premises. One, that time travel is possible. Two, that the characters are able to step outside of themselves and accept each other for who they are not the trappings society expects them to wear. I can't think of anything further apart in comprehension or understanding, than a tortured alpha male Earl from the Victorian era, and a modern-day woman who's lost in time, and yet not lost at all.
There are some who question the "foul" language in the book. Some readers say it's distracting, others state it's uncalled for, while others insist that no one talked that way in the past. History proves otherwise. The F-word has been used since the time of Shakespeare and beyond. While men never used it in the presence of ladies, it was a familiar oath treasured by even the highest of noblemen and kings. As a young woman of today, Victoria's language is typical for a young woman of the 21st century. I make no apologies for using language that might offend, when it's true to the characters. Especially when Victoria uses it only to shock and excite Nicholas, and in doing so further enhances the fact that she's not from his time. While the F-word is present in all my books, I can assure you that you'll not find the word sh*t. I find that word filthy simply because of the image it brings to mind.
FOREVER MINE is the story of a love that extends beyond the linear way we view time, but it is also a story of what reincarnation can mean for each of us and the ones we love. It's a reaffirmation of a power greater than us all that can send two souls across the boundaries of time to find each other time and time again. It's a story that encourages readers to consider the possibility that even beyond this life and into the next there will be more moments of laughter, tears, joy, sorrow, but most of all love and romance with that one special person if the choices we make give us that chance. It's one of the reason I think love and romance are never ending. It's the possibilities.
Some who read FOREVER MINE will question the final outcome, but it's a natural one. Even Nicholas acknowledges this fact once he steps beyond his initial disbelief. He accepts what Victoria had been telling him all along. That acceptance is growth where Nicholas is concerned, a man who didn't believe in time travel. FOREVER MINE is not only a story of a love that crosses time. It's a declaration that the love between two people, two soulmates if you will, will be repeated lifetime after lifetime.
But most of all, FOREVER MINE is about romance and that ultimate HEA. That ultimate belief that no matter how far apart we might be from those we love, we will never truly lose them. It's the belief that each of us can have the same experience Nicholas and Victoria did. Belief that we'll see our loved one time and time again no matter the outcome of the here and now. This book illustrates my belief in romance and the continuity of the HEA.
