With Forever Ride, Chelsea Camaron continues with the tradition of delivering a character driven story in an MC setting. This romance is focused on the development of Savannah (aka Sass) and Tank's characters. As Sass tries to settle into a life outside of the club and Tank comes back from a severe injury, a result from the Hellions' ordeal with Felix Delatorre.
Months go by and Sass settles in with a preppy, pretty boy because he delivers the stable, safe and secure life she thinks is what she wants. Having seen the dangers of club life, she wants that all as far away from her as possible. But like most of us, she learned that the grass isn't always greener on the other side. Little by little she abandons that life for something new and has to come to terms with how different it is from what she's so used to.
With Tank, we learn where he comes from and what brought him to the Hellions' door. How he became the man he is and that Sass drives him to be the man he will be and what he'll do to claim and protect what's his.
Slow paced with heart and passion, we watch them find their way together through different routes making the reunion that much sweeter.
Franklin 'Tank' Oleander was critically injured & lies in a comma, on the brink of death. He knows his 'family' is there, pulling for him but he can't wake up. Every day his 'Button' comes to see him. He can hear her, he feels he touch, he just can't open his eyes. Then one day she stops coming & the darkness seems to stay even more. Will he find the will to wake up or will he take that final ride.
Savannah 'Sass' Perchton grew up in the life, the Hellions have always been her family. But she has reached a point in her life where she has decided to follow another path. She is breaking ties with the club to devote herself to her boyfriend Nick. He doesn't like her continued connection with the club & slowly but surely isolates her from all of them, even her parents & her best friend 'Doll'.
This is their story, and as I said before there were parts of it that really infuriated me but in the end, I absolutely loved this book & can't wait to read the next book in this series.
"Darkness. Shadows. Blackness. Gloom. Sadness. I am engulfed in obscurity, vagueness and murkiness. Oblivion. I am not completely gone, but I'm not altogether here, either. Lost. Tumbling. Absent. A soft voice comes through; gentle, kind, loving and sad. Her voice, her presence, breaks the numbness consuming me. My girl is here. The light in the dark. The sounds of her, the feel of her, knowing she's here pulls me through the shades of black."
Cannot wait for Tessie and Shooter's story next.
I really enjoyed reading Forever Ride. I have always been a big fan of Biker Romance novels and this one sure is right up my alley. Savannah “Sass” Perchton aka Button, is a Hellion Princess, but she doesn’t feel like she fits into the biker life anymore. She is lost, confused, and afraid of what the biker life will do to her. She has seen what her dad put her mom through and doesn’t want that type of life for herself. She wants to be number one in her man’s life; she never wants to be second best. Will she be able to deal with putting her biker family in her past and move on with a “normal” guy? Will the love she has for Tank be her downfall?
Franklin “Tank” Oleander is in a coma but he hasn’t given up on his Button. He knows that he is stuck in the darkness and is fighting with all he has to get out. He can hear her voice, he can smell her sweet scent, and he can feel the sparks when she touches him. Will he ever be able to fight his way out of the darkness? Will Button want him if he wakes up?
I really enjoyed reading Button and Tank’s story. I really felt for Tank. He tried so hard to fight his body so he could wake up for her. I loved how so many of the chapters were in his POV even though he was in a coma. It was sweet reading the memories that he had of Button. Sass, well she was such a lost girl. She knew what she wanted but felt that it wasn’t what she needed. I am so glad that things worked out for her the way they did. I am also glad that Nick got what he had coming to him as well. He definitely was a wolf in sheep’s clothing. I loved how we got more of Tripp and Doll in this one as well.
If you are looking for a biker romance with a serious side, then this one is for you! I look forward to reading the next book on Shooter and Tessie!
I liked both Sass and Tank and I liked there story. There was just too much Nick for my liking. He is as basically brother brainwashing Savanah and she just went along with it. When a guy tells you to having nothing to do with your family - and they are good people - it's time to to leave. Quickly!!! Less Nick would have probably made me enjoy this book a wee bit more.
On a good note, this book was less wordy then the first one.
