Ms. James has written a book so deep, so emotional, it goes beyond an emotional roller coaster, its an emotional wasteland. It is a story that you will need to just hang on for it will be a very bumpy ride. When you think things are finally resolving, Nope, she flips the switch and everything is in upheaval again and that is what makes this an amazing read.
I cried, I yelled, I grieved right along with the characters and that is what makes this one of the best books I have read this year. Again I have to stress, this book is EMOTIONAL so keep tissues by your side and just hang on because all will be resolved in book two. I had to put myself in the character’s shoes and wonder what I would do if this happened to me and I literally had no answer. I felt so bad for Lucy and all she was put thru. Ms. James brings her characters to life and makes you feel everything that they are going thru, every good thing and every bad thing that they are living thru. She made me experience everything and I Mean EVERYTHING AND I hurt Lucy especially, because that is how Ms James wrote and her beautiful and emotional story got to me in such a way, I was an emotional basketcase but what a wonderful way to experience this story. This story shows a love that started when in teen years . a love that has stood test of time , a love that everyone wanted but didn’t seem to have. What really should have been the best day, the happiest day of Lucy’s life ended up being the worst of her young life and just kept getting worst from there on out. One accident changes everything that you seem to know about the person you love, about the past that you know it to be and the person you love AND the person they have become. This is a book that makes you question everything about the characters (Lucy, Sam and Saxon), the present and their past. I want to go into more detail but I don’t want to give any spoilers. This is a book to be savored, to be read and devoured because things move and there are a lot of twists and turns. There is a lot of unshared history and what you thought you knew, you don’t know and whatever it is will have a big impact on your thoughts, feeling and as your reading this book, you start to worry about the outcome. I read this book in one sitting and then I went back and re-read it again because this was so good. I now am jonesing for book 2 because I need to know what ends up happening to all involved. This is one story that has stayed with me . These characters, especially Lucy, will have you invested in their story and the outcome. Because the last scene in the book about did me in and the cliffhanger was earth shattering. This is one duet that everyone will remember.

"I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
This is Lucy Tucker's story, a woman whose world is turned upside down on what was meant to be the happiest day of her life - her wedding day. Four little words have changed her world - "There's been an accident." Lucy is devastated and must rebuild her shattered world. Sam is no longer the man she once loved, but she still loves him madly. Enter Saxon, Sam's identical twin brother, the black sheep of the family who disappeared several years ago.
As with all Monica James' books, I was so addicted to this one, that everything else that I was meant to be doing was forgotten. It simply became another book of hers, that I couldn't put it down, even if I needed to. She just simply has a way with her words.
The way in which she writes and develops her characters, I believe, is her strength. She endears them to her readers. She makes her readers experience every emotion that her characters do - she has perfected this strength beautifully. With this book the emotional rollercoaster is definitely travelling at a rapid pace.
This book has eveything in it that I have come to expect from Monica - family, friendship, self-discovery, understanding, disillusionment, but most of all, it has love. I cannot wait to see where Monica will take Lucy, Sam and Saxon's story next.
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT MONICA.
