Mel Ayton profiles Sirhan and presents a wealth of evidence about his fanatical Palestinian nationalism and his hatred for RFK that motivated the killing. Ayton unearths neglected eyewitness accounts and overlooked forensic evidence and examines Sirhan’s extensive personal notebooks. He revisits the trial proceedings and convincingly shows Sirhan was in fact the lone assassin whose politically motivated act was a forerunner of present-day terrorism. The Forgotten Terrorist is the definitive book on the assassination that rocked the nation during the turbulent summer of 1968.
This second edition features a new afterword containing interviews and new evidence, as well as a new examination of the RFK assassination acoustics evidence by technical analyst Michael O’Dell.

Review
“The exquisite detail contained in Mel Ayton’s well-written, wonderfully researched work makes it must-reading for anyone interested in this case. . . . Nobody knows more about the issues revolving around the RFK murder case than Mel Ayton. Nobody.”—Dan E. Moldea, author of The Killing of Robert Kennedy: An Investigation of Motive, Means, and Opportunity
“Mel Ayton [is] a writer I’ve found to be a valuable debunker of unwarranted conspiracy theorizing. He reminds us with copious quotations in (his articles) how repeatedly and explicitly Sirhan made clear why he targeted R.F.K.: because Sirhan hated the state of Israel and hated R.F.K.’s support for Israel.”—Ron Rosenbaum, The Observer
“Important and extensively documented. . . . The chapter on ‘The Unaffiliated Terrorist’ is especially pertinent to understanding current lone wolf terrorists, as it discusses leading forensic psychology theories to explain Sirhan’s possible mental state and motivations.”—Joshua Sinai, Perspectives on Terrorism Published On: 2018-09-14
“Students will find this an intriguing story to read, and in an advanced level of seminar devoted to analyzing the use of evidence, very instructive. Ayton is an excellent writer, and his text bristles and probes, leading the reader on a fascinating, if ultimately depressing journey detailing the assassin’s many obsessions and final fatal decision to silence Sen. Kennedy during the deeply troubled 1968 presidential election season. . . . Mel Ayton presents a compelling examination of the convicted assassin’s motivations, his state of mind, and the mountain of evidence used to denounce and imprison him.”—Craig Hendricks, History Teacher
“Mel Ayton, the author of this easy-to-read, information-packed study . . . has produced a significant book with original and detailed information and analyses regarding Sirhan’s life, motivation, and psychology. . . . Those who despair of the country ever freeing itself from the debilitating morass of the conspiracy mind-set should take heart. It is books like this splendid one . . . that will hasten the day.”—Patricia Lambert, author of False Witness: The Real Story of Jim Garrison’s Investigation and Oliver Stone’s Film
“Mel Ayton has a well-deserved reputation for doing the near-impossible: writing about controversial history (including conspiracy theories) in a sober but imaginative way, combining reliable accounts with intellectually stimulating arguments. I highly recommend his work.”—Rick Shenkman, publisher, History News Network Published On: 2018-09-14
“The Forgotten Terrorist is superlative, especially in regard to Sirhan’s political obsessions and background. The greatest riddle in any of these high-profile assassinations is motive. Thanks to Mel Ayton, the RFK killing can now be removed from that list of mysteries. I now recommend this book as the first and last book to read on the case.”—Gus Russo, author of The Outfit and Supermob Published On: 2018-09-14
“Mel Ayton has accomplished something that no one writing about the RFK assassination has ever achieved before. By combining a judicious review of the forensic and eyewitness evidence with a firm grasp of the historical context, Ayton has finally made sense of the 1968 killing. The Forgotten Terrorist is a long overdue reminder that assassination is political murder.”—Max Holland, author of The Kennedy Assassination Tapes Published On: 2018-09-14 --This text refers to an alternate kindle_edition edition.

"I am a recognized expert on the murder of Senator Kennedy, but I learned a great deal from The Forgotten Terrorist, especially about Sirhan's family background and his `Palestinian nationalism.' The exquisite detail contained in this well-written, wonderfully researched work makes it a must-read for anyone studying this far from open-and-shut case." -- Dan E. Moldea, author of The Killing of Robert F. Kennedy: An Investigation of Motive, Means, and Opportunity

"Ayton has produced a significant book with original and detailed information and analyses regarding Sirhan's life, motivation and psychology, we well as the crime itself, which includes new forensic evidence published in three appendices. . . .After reading this compelling comprehensive work, the truth about this case seems obvious." --Patricia Lambert, History News Network

In 2011 Senator Robert F. Kennedy’s assassin, Sirhan Sirhan, sought a new trial or freedom from his life sentence asserting his innocence. In December 2011 California’s Attorney General, Kamala Harris, through her Deputy Attorney General, Jamie Fuster, requested Ayton’s assistance in preparing a brief challenging Sirhan’s claim that he is innocent of the murder of Senator Robert F. Kennedy. The California courts eventually dismissed Sirhan’s request in 2015. (See: https://www.leagle.com/decision/infdco20150106770 )

Remember, PLO ARAFAT wanted to trade Sirhan for three captured American Diplomats from the Sudan. Nixon said no. And ARAFAT the the "moderate" PLO tortured and killed all three.
Out of four praising "editorial reviewers" cited in the book description, you will, if you are familiar with the subject of political assassination in the US, notice that 3 of them (Max Holland, Gus Russo and Patricia Lambert), are wellknown for their unconditionnal faith in and active support of the Lone Nut theory as the "explanation" to the JFK assassination:
*Max Holland is the official CIA mouthpiece on the subject (just check the official CIA website...)
*Gus Russo wrote a book (Live by the sword), claiming that JFK actually got what he deserved because he tried to kill Castro first (Russo apparently never read the new information that surfaced, documenting a top secret back channel communication directly between JFK and Castro, with Castro eagerly pushing for a peaceful solution to the enimity between the 2 nations just as the shots rang out in Dallas. He apparently doesn't know that Castro declared on November 20th, after hearing JFK's speech on US-Cuban relations, that he wished that "JFK would be reelected"...). And of course, oswald did it all by himself...
*Pat Lambert wrote a very biased and slanted book against Garrisson's efforts in New Orleans, basically saying that it amounted to nothing(strangely, she never commented on the fact that most of the characters identified by Garrisson are still considered as very likely suspects, 40 years later, and that the accusations of CIA connections adressed to Shaw and Ferrie, have indeed been verified...)
So there you have it: when people of this ilk start praising a book about the assassination of the brother of JFK, is it really a coincidence that the book will conclude, coincidentally, that it was also another "freak accident of history"?
As an aside, Mel Ayton is clearly trying to spin his "product" within the present paranoia against anything remotely "Muslim/Mid eastern".
It should be of interest to note that this alledged "First terrorist" is actually of the Christian faith, which should alert US citizens to the fact that the israel / Palestine conflict is not merely a dispute between bloodthirtsy Muslims, and peace-loving Jews, as they are led to believe by a complicit media...
