I went back and forth between the Forney Master Patriot and the Lincoln Electric 3350. When I looked at the Forney Master in person, I really liked what I saw - light weight, the finish is matte and has an almost rubbery feel instead of hard, shiny plastic that's going to scratch easily. The Master Series has good wrap-around coverage, a ton of adjustment on the shade as well as a grind mode. The Master Series also has the 4C optical clarity. The graphics are really sharp.
Welding with the helmet is great. No excess reflections, the auto darkening is flawless. Visual clarity while welding is the best I've ever seen. The geared headband is easy to adjust as well as being soft and comfortable for long periods.
The fact that the Forney Master Series is $100 cheaper sealed the deal.
I can't seem to get the helmet adjusted correctly to not cause pain and then not slip when raised or lowered.
As for the workings of the helmet, it is really good. It turns on/off really fast and going from grind to shade 13 with a twist of the dial is nice.
Overall good product, just wish it was more comfortable.
