Fajardo's writing is superb, complex, detailed and it flows beautifully. The story is interesting, complex, consistent, contains many characters, based on original idea and follows several situations in a parallel manner. The characters are consistent, well developed and sometimes contain layers of complexity. They are numerous: K aka Kajhoul, Jaron, Tyran, Jarod aka The Enforcer, Maya, Mikel, Citera, Dirik and some side characters. All of these characters are developed into detail and followed through the stories.
This book continues with the same intensity the second book finished, and it reaches the culmination of events towards the end. However, it leaves us with the feeling that things are only starting now, and there is this anticipation of the next book. Almost all of our characters are together now, and their interactions become even more interesting. The break from struggles is long over and new challenges begin. The world expands well beyond Vanteria and Oasis into other countries and races.
All three books read like one continuous piece of work. Prologue of each book adds to the information we encounter later and to the layers of complexity of the story and the characters. I honestly do not have a clear idea where the series is going and this thrills me. It is a rare occasion that I meet a book, or a series or an author this good. All I have is praise, and if I could give it 7 stars somewhere I would. All in all, amazing books, and one of the best series I have ever read. I honestly cannot wait for the next book or books. I am hoping for plurality.
We get a to know some of our favorites on a new and deeper level, and meet new characters that you love, hate, and love to hate! We find out some of K's history and about the terrible truths to her past and some of the things she has gone through, but it is only the tip of the iceberg. The more we learn, the more questions we have. So so much happens here, and it is intense!
Seriously, I just want to tell you everything, all the goodness! I love it so much! The only negative I would say about this freaking amazing series it that... now I'm waiting again! I NEED MORE!
This particular book in the series, I would say is the most intense. You get more of a feel behind K’s past, the good, the bad, and the ugly. The trials of Jarod and Maya’s escape, how lives are at the Oasis, and the fight to find K is in this story. It’s hard to give any more information without giving away any spoilers. The best I can tell you is that this, to me, is the best book in the series. You find out plenty of information that you may have been questioning since the first book came out.
This is a very well written series that keeps you on your toes. It keeps your imagination flowing and sucking you into their world. You can’t help to feel what they all feel. This is a really great read and I highly recommend this book as well as the whole series!
The characters were still just as awesome and the story-line was powerful and incredible at the same time. This story was packed full of so much action and suspense that I was literally sitting on the edge of my seat the entire time, wondering, day dreaming even, what would happen next. I highly recommend this read, but you must read the first two books to understand what is going on.
The author provided me with a digital ARC copy of the book for review purposes only. No remuneration was exchanged.
