About the Author
R. J. CRADDOCK Born Ruth Jerraisetti Harris in Oka Tamuning, Guam, Ruth is the youngest of eight children. As a young child, she began telling stories, developing unique characters, and conjuring fantastical worlds in her mind. As she grew older, a thirst for reading overcame her and she devoured all kinds of books, finding kindred spirits in classic novelists such as Dickens, Bronte, and Fitzgerald. She started writing her first novel at age eleven. After high school, she attended the Art Institute of Phoenix to pursue her other great passion: Art. Ruth now lives with her husband and Four sons in Springville, Utah.

The Forsaken is very well written. It's one of those books that really help you feel the emotions of the characters. I instantly felt a strong connection with the main character. I was able to relate to her thought process and found myself at times concerned almost speaking out loud "no, don't do that, Gwen!".
Although at times it moved a bit slow, I appreciated the attention to detail. The book's opening story with Gwen and the fire, her cross over into the human world.. It's really just grabs at you! The story as a whole is very creative and imaginative and I think you will enjoy it very much.
