The Fortune FLM-100 4-in-1 burning torch flame light contains LEDs that flicker like an actual flame, consists of a torch handle and a detachable bowl, and can be used as a party decoration, a prop in a theater production, or part of a display. The burning torch flame light can be held like a torch or mounted to a wall, or the bowl can be hung by a chain from the torch or detached entirely and placed on a table, providing versatility. LEDs are suitable for use around children or pets or in places where a traditional candle with an open flame might create a fire hazard. Retractable feet support the bowl when it is sitting on a table. The light can run for up to four hours on four AA batteries (sold separately). A 6V DC jack allows the light to be used with a Fortune Products ADAP-LLAS1000 variable power adapter or a Fortune Products BPP-3201-4 battery power pack (each sold separately). The detachable bowl measures 5-3/4" high and 3-3/4" in diameter. The handle measures 10" long.
Fortune Products manufactures battery-operated lighting products for special events, seasonal decor, and interior design. The company, founded in 1985, is headquartered in Lake Stevens, WA.

I have found that, with a few modifications, they can look even better. I usually end up covering the blue LED with a bit of masking tape as the blue tends to overpower the flame too much. I also put a bit of clear scotch tape (the matte kind) over the orange bulbs to diffuse them, other wise you get "hot spots" of light on the fabric.
If you want to really go the extra mile, you can get a piece of lighter colored silk and cut your own wavy triangle for a less "fluttery" flame. I have found that this reads better from a distance.
The unit will run for several hours on a set of batteries. The chain and torch handle are both pretty well made, but the three little legs attached to the bottom of the unit are rather flimsy and tend to pop off after a few uses. You can pop them right back on, if you don't lose them, but they will continu fall off every time you change the battery. Changing the batteries also requires removing a teeny tiny screw from the cover so, if you are like me, you will probably loose the screw almost immediately. However, tape will also hold the battery over on just fine once you do.
It requires four AA batteries (non included) and comes with an extra 'flame' as the fabric used eventually frays (so the instructions say--and it was starting to fray a little after the week's play, but is not ready for replacement). Since the kids are going to the beach this next week, I know they'll have a great time playing with it and can then use it again at Halloween as part of their decorations.
I was pleasantly surprised at how effective and realistic the torch looks, and the kids really loved it. The base is easy to attach and can be removed so the little bowl can sit on the table like a cauldron once the built in legs on the bowl are extended. It also comes with a hanging chain as shown in the picture, which can be attached should you want to hang it. I bought several items to stage our home Olympics and this torch was one of the most treasured. With the handle the torch is just the right size to be carried for Olympics play or for a Statue of Liberty costume. The bowl is small enough to be a cute accent hanging at the door on Halloween or sitting on a small table. If you look into the top, you see the mechanics (light bulbs and such) but when the torch is turned on and held up so you see only the fluttering and colorfully lighted 'flame' it's quite realistic looking while still being completely safe.
- The item works okay, and looks pretty cool with the fabric flapping whipping about
- Yet the item is poorly constructed, plastic constantly becoming unsnapped, etc. I probably would've gave it 5 stars if it was cheaper in price ($10-$15), but for $20, I expected it to be constructed a bit better.

It ran for a couple of hours at my Tiki party but now the fan has quit. Nice idea but it should have used higher quality parts. Read morePublished 18 months ago by David M. Moore
the torch part was clunky but the fire looked very real. it's not very noisy either. I would recommend it to others.Published on July 1, 2014 by A. mancebo
I should have looked at the size closer, smaller then I was wanting. It works good, and looks decent but I was wanting a larger one.Published on November 24, 2013 by Amazon Customer
It really was cheaply made, so I chose not to use it at all. I'm glad I didn't spend a lot of money on it. Only 1 piece of fabric and the air barely blew it upright. Read morePublished on November 4, 2013 by Adelina Wilcox

Could be built tougher. The fake flame is unrealistic. However, it is a unique product. I wish a better built model was available.Published on July 27, 2013 by Der Jaeger
