This was the perfect decoration to hang over my 6yr old son's bedroom door while he was sleeping the night before his birthday. He is all into pirates, treasures and anything GOLD!!! He had a look of awe when he opened his door in the morning and walked through shimmering GOLD!!!! It was too funny when my 3yr old daughter woke up first and came running to my bedside asking where her gold curtain was!!!!! Thankfully mom planned ahead and had a shimmery pink one in the closet for her...WHEW...disaster avoided. Both kids are smitten with their shimmering strands. I would definitely purchase these again (and I might if they get tattered with time...they are soooo worth it). I will say that they are tricky to hang and quite delicate. I found that clear packaging tape has worked ok; however, I have to press it down every couple days or they start to fall. One did fall once and the tape got all stuck to the strands! It was quite a mess; however, I was able to get it all sorted out. Also, the kids had to learn the limits of their curtains and quickly found out that they would tear apart if they pulled on them. I only had to tape up a few strands (easy peasy to tape them up if the are pulled off) until they learned. Now they gently part the strands and walk through...it is too cute :-) I think I might try that blue painters tape next time the clear tape starts coming down. I think the blue tape will hold it up longer...Yup..that is the plan. The blue will stand out terribly bad I am sure, but who cares...the kids love them. Oh...and the are a tad long for standard doors and ceilings; however, 1 minute's worth of work with a pair of scissors gets them the perfect length. I would definitely...definitely...definitely buy these again! Hmmmm...maybe this will be our new birthday gift...the kids will love them!!!!

Some of the lower rated reviews for this tinsel curtain noted how delicate it was and that it fell apart. It is delicate and if you're planning to use it in a place that's going to be touched or pulled on repeatedly, it may not work out for you. I used it as a backdrop to a food table at my ladies' night party and it was perfect.

When putting it up, I handled it lightly so as not to pull any of the fringe off and once it was up tried not to touch it again. It looked great and really gave my party a fancy flair. I layered black plastic tablecloths behind it to make it stand out better and hide the wall behind the fringe. It was beautiful. It held up so well, I was able to gather it up with twist ties and save it again for another use. I really like these fringe curtains.

Warning: if you have cats that like to chew on this type of material, be careful where you hang the curtain. My cat was able to chew a few strings off and ingest a little bit before I noticed she was eating it. Thankfully, she threw them back up but it could be hazardous to cats and small animals if they eat it.

Are these cheap curtains that you put up once and throw away? Yes.

I wouldn't expect QUALITY from these, and they are exceptionally tacky, but they are fun and loud. You do have to be a little careful when you take them out of the packaging, but mine were completely intact and were a fun addition to a party. I would not use them as actual curtains to walk through, they will probably start to come down with a few forceful ins/outs. I used them as a separator between the kitchen and the rest of the dining room during the party and they functioned quite well for that purpose. I think as separators or backdrops these curtains are great. If you are looking for something to actually walk through you might want to invest in something a little stronger. But for a one night party? These will do the job just fine.

to a 50th anniversary party and brightened up the walls. The kids loved tearing them apart, might be a hazard for the little ones though, so be vigilant. Once torn apart, they are a pain to clean up (think really super long tinsel!). All in all, fun, and I would order again.

I bought this based on this product picture and the pictures from reviewers. They all must have gotten more than one. The description is obvious that it is 3' in width and 8' in length, but the pictures are misleading. It really just just cover a standard door. If you are planning on using it for a photo backdrop get at least two. I would suggest three. Next time I need to pay more attention to the sizing.
