We cut out a section of the dial to expose its inner workings and gears. Rose gold accents stand out against the genuine black leather strap. From timeless classics to the latest fashions, Fossil is sure to have the timepiece that perfectly compliments your unique sense of style. Founded in 1984 when timepieces were created more for function than fashion, Fossil began to transform this notion with its unique combination of vintage 1950s Americana design and affordably accessible cool style. Adding to their collectability were the one-of-a-kind, trademark tins that came with the watches that mixed a creative spirit with a sense of humor. These iconic boxes are nearly as popular as the watches they hold and are regularly collected and traded throughout the world at flea markets, antique shops, and on eBay.
Today, Fossil produces over 300 different styles of watches in a continuously changing lineup. While the majority of designs are created by in-house designers, Fossil has reached out to such contemporary artisans as product designer Philip Starck and famed architect Frank Gehry (designer of the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain) to create uniquely modern timepieces. In addition to style innovations, Fossil has also helped introduce innovative technologies into watches, such as the Wrist PDA that ran the Palm operating system. Fossil also offers complementary lines of small leather goods, belts, handbags, sunglasses, jewelry and apparel.
Fossil is an American lifestyle brand, creatively rooted in authentic vintage and classic design. The brand’s unique style reflects the best of what it stands for: bags that pair portability with streamlined design, must-have watches created in fresh hues and materials, and timeless clothes and accessories.

This watch is automatic (self-winding) and a quartz (battery powered) watch. It is a calendar watch, has a separate 24 hour dial and has the features of a skeletal watch. However it is NOT a chronograph watch. I knew this going into the purchase despite the disruption claiming that it is. The picture of the watch made it look like a GMT watch, but the 24hour dial cannot be set independently so the only way it could display GMT time is if the hour hand is set to GMT time as well.
It is difficult to determine the accuracy of this watch. Even though the hour and minute hands are run by the quartz crystal, the second is powered by the automatic movement, and is considered to be merely ornamental by the manufacturer.
The watch claims that it is water resistant up to 50 meters, but the manual that comes with the watch states that you must NOT go swimming while wearing it. The back of the watch is secured by four Philip head screws and has no indentations for a wrench to grab on to.
It comes with a ten year warranty. Though impressive in duration, the manual says that unauthorized repairs will void the warranty. The wording is vague. I am not sure that if you change the battery yourself if it will void the warranty.
An argument could be made that this watch leans to form over function, however I like this watch. I would recommend it; just keep in mind its limitations.
The watch isn't flashy, so it can be used in a business setting. The face of the watch is unique, sort of emulating a 1950s style.
The only possible fault that this watch has is its thickness. However, it is not too thick to prevent it from slipping under the cuff of a buttoned shirt.
In this review I tried to address the concerns that I had prior to ordering the watch. In short, it's a great watch at a reasonable price. A very good buy.
If you have any questions, please comment. Thanks for reading!
I recommend this watch 100% and give two thumbs up!
I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a decent watch that looks great on the wrist.
