Starting the book as you might your morning, Foster offers tantalizing breakfast possibilities such as Sticky Orange-Coconut Pinwheels and traditional-with-a-twist brunch dishes such as Mushroom-Risotto Hash with Fried Eggs and Grilled Ham. Next come more than 15 soul-warming soups, stews, and chilies (Corn and Roasted Red Pepper Chowder is just one of many must-make entries); sandwiches and snacks; salads and sides; entrées; and desserts. Main-dish highlights include Chicken Breasts Stuffed with Prosciutto and Sun-Dried Tomatoes (they're so good and so easy to make!), Grilled Eggplant Parmesan with Fresh Mozzarella and Zesty Tomato Sauce, and Pan-Seared Sea Scallops with Tom Thumb Tomatoes and Foster's Pesto (a perfect quick spring meal). The desserts are divine, including chic confections such as Four-Layer Blueberry Gingerbread Cake with Mocha Cream, a collaboration with Durham pastry chef Kathy Edwards, as well as old-fashioned treats like strawberry shortcake and pecan pie (nicely jazzed with bourbon). Throughout, sidebars and tips on techniques give cooks additional opportunity to learn from Foster's fine food sensibility. For connoisseurs of simple yet sophisticated cuisine, The Foster's Market Cookbook truly titillates. --Rebecca Robinson --This text refers to an alternate kindle_edition edition.

This book is has several different sections covering a wide range of tastes. For breakfast this cookbook offers many tasty dishes to wake up to. This book is filled with all sorts of hearty muffins the Oatmeal-Banana Muffin with Chocolate Chip is wonderful, hearty and sweet. The Panama Buttermilk Pancakes are heavenly the addition of banana and coconut make for a delicious breakfast.
This book has so many different salad dressing recipes and vinagrettes you are sure find a new favorite. Sour Cherry, Cranberry, Dijon, and my favorite Lemon-Dill Vinaigrette. There are heartier dishes such as the succulent Chicken Breasts Stuffed with Procuitto and Sun Dried Tomatoes, Chicken Potpie with Foster's Herb Biscuits are down right good home cooking.
And did I mention the desserts? Blondies, Brownies, Chocolate Chip cookies, and so much more. So not only are there tons of great recipes the book is laid out very well, and easy to read. The instructions are extremely clear, and they aren't confusing. This book has been a welcomed addition to my personal recipe collection.
I realized what a great cookbook it was when I lent it to a friend who has a culinary degree (since she loved the scones - the scones again) and after she flipped through it, she said she was going to get her own copy.
