The clamp performs very well when it comes to holding onto the plate; the grip feels very strong and reliable. It also feels well-built so there are no complaints in that department. However, fastening the clamp itself down can be a pain as it tends to rotate from the middle screw hole. I tried fastening the two outer 3/4s holes simultaneously to avoid the rotation but these are spaced a little too closely to be used in most cheese plates/cheese rails. Felt slightly disappointed by this.

CNC Precision Thumbscrew stripped: nonfunctional clamp

When it worked it worked but this product is a newbie photographer tax.

After two months, while tightening the thumbscrew in the red box, it stripped. As a result the clamp will not clamp safely on any Arca rail. It moves freely up and down the screw it's wrapped around and is loose and dangerous.

According to reviews this is a known issue since 2018 and as far as I can see all these years whatever factory they're coming from just keeps pumping them out under different names and sometimes with a free plate.

I'm not interested in a replacement so I'll be buying some other more expensive clamp and hoping it fares better unless these are all disposable in the time of a month. If you lose +$500 worth of gear can you really say at $12 you did your best?

At least I got 3x 3/8th to 1/4th adapters unless those are dangerous too.
