These are fantastic! I liked the first one so much I bought three more. I use them on my tripods to hold cameras and a teleprompter, and even on the teleprompter to switch out cameras and the digital recorder (Tascam DR70). You can use them either "wide" or "long" on your tripod depending on whether you want to move your mounted item side-to-side (which I do with the recorder) or front-to-back (which I do on the teleprompter).
Bonus: they are significantly cheaper than anything else like them.
Truly, if this is the type of item you need, just get 'em. They're THAT good. It's rare that I give 5-star reviews. Based on price, quality and functionality, these deserve it. :-)

Plain perfect!
Just plain perfect! Smooth, heavy and holds for dear life. One mistake I made was not buying more, i think for the money imma just throw one on my slider, tripod. BUT, where this long plate really shines, is on steadycams. Tho heavy, it makes on field balancing incredibly easy and saves a world of hassle when you need to move quick.Pictures below: I have moved the camera all the way to the front of the plate to show scale. Its a canon 70D with a 50mm prime L series lens. On the last picture you can see a spring loaded pin which helps to keep you're camera from threading out, however your camera (dslr and point and shoot only) has to sit all the way forward in order to take advantage of the pin.I have no connection to the seller or manufacturer so I hope my honest opinions help.Thank You,Thomas Guimaraes

I purchased this unit to use only the attachment adapter, not the base. I wanted the smaller size of this unit to connect to my Swarovski spotting scope for use on my tripod panhead. Unfortunately, Fotasy ARCA SWISS doesn’t conform to any ARCA SWISS that I already use on my tripods. ARCA SWISS should be pretty universal and have industry standards. Fits loose and will slide out. If the tension piece tightened another turn, or so, it may have worked. Lessened learned. Buy more expensive to get quality.
