In the past I have purchased Rogue brand gel filters. I use these filters a lot and, over time, I wear them out. I decided to try these Fotasy gels because the price is significantly lower. From other reviews I already knew that, unlike the Rogue filters, these are not labeled. I knew I could compare them to my Rogue filters and hand label them.
What I didn't know was that the area of these gels intended to cover the flash surface is not as wide as my Rogue gels. The Fotasy gels are about 3/8" narrower. Thus they are just shy of fully covering the flash area on my Canon 600EX-RT speedlites. Even when placed onto the flash perfectly centered, they leave a little bit exposed in each corner. And if the gels are not perfectly centered then more area is left uncovered.
For me, this is a deal breaker. These are going into the trash and I am going to order more Rogue gels.
