Top Customer Reviews
Bought this EzFoto Arca-Swiss Type Quick Release Plate with a slight degree of skepticism, wondering if and how it would work. It's fine that they list it as being for Canon, Nikon, Sony, Pentax, Olympus,Panasonic and Fuji cameras, but my doubts were lessened somewhat when I noticed that the description claimed compatibility with "Arca-Swiss" type quick release plates from Arca-Swiss, Foba, Graff, Wimberley, etc. My subjective needs were specific: I wanted a back-up plate for my Vanguard BBH-200 Tripod Head, a ball head that comes with its own Quick Shoe, so I had a standard with which to compare it.
◆ In Use:
This Arca-Swiss Type Quick Release Plate comes in a plain white generic box. The first thing noticed was the precision-machined aluminum with its satin black anodized finish. It has four rubberized grip pads on the top of the plate, and a standard ¼"-20 camera mounting screw. It's easily mounted to the camera with a small coin.
This mounting plate seems to follow the Arca-Swiss standard quite well, with a 38mm x 38mm mount base, and it's complete with 45° dovetail, which is held into place on the ball head receiver with its screw clamp.Read more ›
It is close enough to be Arca-Swiss compatible, but this is just it - close enough. It works with Arcatech Ultimate ballhead with a screw-lock base, but it simply doesn't fit the lever-locked base on my another ballhead (Vanguard ABH-230L) even with the adjustment screw fully extended.
-The OEM case is not compatible with an X100 with the adapter ring (much less the bayonet hood). You'd have to take it off every time you wanted to store the camera and risk cross threading the lens body on a $1200 camera that does not have removable lenses.. not something I'm interested in!
-Look. The Fuji cases are kind of.. drab. I held one in a store and they just didn't do much for me. Yeah, they look "vintage", but the leather is stiff, the inside isn't very soft, and the stitching didn't look extremely well done or finished. This is a high quality, full grain leather with a smooth suede interior, nicely coordinated light gold stitching, and very nicely finished smooth edges.
-Price. With a price just over half the cost of the Fuji OEM case, this is a relative bargain.
I'm very happy with my purchase, the camera fits in very firmly and holds tight and has a great "vintage" look, especially with the lens hood attached.
My only reasons for giving this 4 stars:
-The bottom of the case has a hole with a brass threaded screw that affixes to the tripod mount on the camera, and the alignment on the hole is a little off, making it difficult to use without some creative engineering to avoid screwing it in wrong and cross threading it.
-It must be removed completely to access the memory card and battery port, which is really only a minor problem I suppose. The only case I've seen that has battery access is the Gariz case, which is much more expensive and essentially only available from overseas sellers so it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make.

This is a well made small arca swiss plate. The only reason I give a 2 star is that the allen wrench sized screw is smaller than the usual "standard" size found in most... Read morePublished 17 days ago by Harry M. Shin

I bought the one that's 150mm with 2 screws. Unfortunately, the two screws are too far for my lens collar even at their closest locations. Read morePublished 1 month ago by 3 Cents
