The tripod mount seems much better than those on less expensive models

Seems very solid and well made. It fits both the Sony A6000 camera and my zeiss lense for a contax q139 perfectly. The tripod mount seems much better than those on less expensive models. I didn't have any loose black powder on the inside as is reported in the previous review but I took a white cotton rag to the inner black coating and some of it rubbed off onto the rag. I spent a few minutes rubbing the inside with the rag until nothing came off on the rag and then sprayed it with compressed air and feel comfortable using it now. I would recommend it to others.

The Good: Contax lenses focused perfectly (infinity included). Exterior build seemed solid. Little to no play on the lens mount.
The REALLY Bad: Inside is coated in a fine black powder/dust--fell onto the sensor of my Sony A7. I then had to use sensor swabs to clean the sensor.

Decent quality adapter but the tripod mount is not adequate

The fit and finish are good. I would expect the camera bayonet to be made from brass, like the ones found in lenses. That is not a deal breaker, though. However, the tripod mount quality is not adequate. It is flimsy, has only one screw and has an off-center tripod mount. Like similar vintage lenses, Yashica/Contax lenses are heavier than the modern plastic ones and the adapter's tripod mount for sure is not good enough. I returned the adapter, but if tripod was not a must, I would buy it again.
