Technical Details

Product Description

If you have a SLR or DSLR camera and other maker/mount lenses, the Fotodiox Mount Adapters allow you to use your lenses on the film/digital camera body. Sharing lenses has some distinct advantages. Certain prime lens just can't be replaced, and you save the cost of purchase on new lenses. Adapting larger format lens to smaller format sensors (i.e: large format to medium format, medium format to 35mm, 35mm to micro 4/3) provides excellent edge-to-edge sharpness. The smaller image field helps minimize the effects of lens distortion and aberration by using the 'sweet spot' or center of the larger lens image circle.

This Fotodiox lens mount adapter is made with high standard precision. As all Pro series adapters, these adapters have been specially crafted to endure professional lenses. No "play" between lens and camera. Aperture Priority and/or Manual Mode is required while adapter attached. Built-in Focusing Helicoid allows focus with any Mamiya RB67 lens, super smooth and precise focusing barrel.

Although the lens will fit physically, automatic diaphragm, auto-focusing, or any other functions will not operate correctly while using this adapter. In this case "stop-down mode" will need to be used when metering since the lens does not have the ability to have its aperture controlled by the camera body. You can shoot with manual mode or aperture priority mode. Infinity focusing is guaranteed with the built-in 1.4x Multi-Coated Focus Correction Lens.

Compatible Cameras (including, but not limited to): Nikon D7100, D7000, D5300, D5200, D5100, D5000, D3300, D3200, D3100, D3000, D800, D800E, D700, D610, D600, D300, D300S, D200, D100, D50, D60, D70, D80, D90, D40, D40x, N70s, D4, D4S, D3, D3S, D3X, D2, D2H, D2Hs, D2X, D2Xs, D1, D1H, D1X, DF

So far so good. I wish there were more sample pics but this purchase was a curiosity-fueled, blind buy. I attached a photo in which I corrected the exposure and converted to black and white. Photos in color look good to me as well. I might update with more images.

I'm using this adapter on a 10 year old Finepix S3 Pro, with a couple of really old Mamiya Sekor C RB67 lenses, a 65mm and a 90mm. It arrived about 2 weeks ago and hasn't been off the camera since, and I'm using the camera almost daily. For macro work it's fantastic, focussing down to about 3 inches. You do have to remember to stop down the lens and unless you're using a handheld meter, your exposure will be trial and error, but that just slows you down resulting in a better thought out image.

My only complaint is that it won't focus to infinity, that's the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars. That said, with a small aperture, that's not much of a problem, but they don't allow half stars.

Dealing with an RB67 lens is tricky. This adaptor manages to deal with the shutter properly. It is a bit fussy to use, but it works.
