If you have a SLR or DSLR camera and other maker/mount lenses, the Fotodiox Mount Adapters allow you to use your lenses on the film/digital camera body. Sharing lenses has some distinct advantages. Certain prime lens just can't be replaced, and you save the cost of purchase on new lenses. Fotodiox offers a range of adapter from large format to smaller format digital adapters. This Fotodiox lens mount adapter is made with high standard precision. Its all metal design and polished surface is designed to guarantee smooth mounting and long lasting experiences. It allows Pentax Takumar and Zeiss M42 Screw Mount Lenses to fit on a Canon EOS camera body.
Although the lens will fit physically, automatic diaphragm, auto-focusing, or any other functions will not operate correctly while using this adapter. In this case "stop-down mode" will need to be used when metering since the lens does not have the ability to have its aperture controlled by the camera body. You can shoot with manual mode or aperture priority mode. Infinity focusing is allowed.
Compatible Cameras (including, but not limited to): 1d/1ds, Mark II, III, IV, X, C, 5D, 5D Mark II/III 7D, 10D, 20D, 30D, 40D, 50D, 60D, 60Da, Rebel xt, xti, xs, xsi, t1i, T2i, T3, T3i, T4, 300D, 350D, 400D, 450D, 500D, 550D, 1000D

It can be a little finnicky to get on and off, but definitely does what I wanted it to!
2/28/16: Updated to add a photo, so you can see the results. Vivitar 85-205 Zoom. This adapter is amazing on the Canon T5.
6/10/2016 Added a picture showing the small flange. Notice the locking pin for the camera to the adapter.
If you don't already own one, get thee to an auction site and grab yourself a Helios 44-2 (cheap and plentiful... for now), screw this adapter on, take a portrait of your favorite person standing in front of some nice foliage, and watch magic happen. You are going to LOVE the bokeh. I am 99% certain that I saw a shot using this lens on an episode of "24" recently. This Russian lens is a favorite among many filmmakers.
The only caveat is your lens MUST HAVE AN AUTO/MANUAL SWITCH FOR THE APERTURE. Otherwise, you're stuck shooting wide open or permanently converting your lens to manual. My 50mm f/2.8 Domiplan has a pin for aperture control that must be depressed, which this ring doesn't do. I've also heard that some lenses end up 60 degrees offset when mounted. My two M42 lenses don't suffer from this.
Good if you have a big collection of lenses from your granddad or your adventures on eBay.
I have 3 M42 lens: 1- f/2,2 55MM; 2- Vivitar f/ 3.8 70-150MM Zoom with a Vivitar 70-150MM 2X multiplier; and 3- Chinon f2.8 28MM wide angle.
All 3 lens (4 - if you count the 2x multiplier) worked perfectly. I always shoot in manual (M) mode with my Cannon EOS 600, so I didn't try the Auto feature.
This is a fantastic adapter, I'm so glad I purchased it.
