I am posting images taken with a Sony Sonnar 35mm F2.8 at F2.8 ISO 200 and a Canon 35mm F1.4 L lens at F2.0 ISO 100 using a tripod and Sony's free Touchless Shutter App (Beta 1.0). The images are difficult to tell apart!
For filmmaking however this adapter works just as good as the regular Metabones IV adapter which I rented and tested along with this. The inside is not glossy, so I'm not getting any internal reflections. So far every lens I've tested is working fine. Occasionally while setting the aperture the camera will stop reporting it back. (I believe this has been fixed via firmware update on the Metabones) However rebooting the camera fixes this and I've never had it happen unless I was actually changing the aperture. While shooting you should be fine.
The build quality is nice, I don't think it would break if dropped, there are no light leaks as far as I can tell, and the lenses fit snug and don't seem like they would fall off or become loose.
Overall I think this adapter will hold me over until I can afford the Metabones Speedbooster. The only thing I can possibly think of that I would have liked to see on this was a built in ND filter. I would have gladly paid extra for that! Highly recommend this to everyone shooting video, do not recommend this to photographers unless you are okay with manual/slow focus.
Overall, very happy with my purchase and would recommend. It is much cheaper than other mainstream options that I researched and appears to function just as well.
The build quality was a 5 star rating and connectivity would also rate 5 stars. However, I gave it only a three star rating due to it's slow to focus. I can typically count 3-5 seconds before it finds a focus. No problem for architecture or landscapes, but everything else, forget it. I also discovered that using the small Sony A6000 body with a very heavy lens made it awkward to hold the camera and make adjustments to the settings while composing. This led me to the decision to sell my canon lenses and go with the excellent sony lenses as the weight ratio of body to lens will be much better balanced.
