I've read that some people received something other than what's represented in the photo.
Mine was what I'd seen on this site.
I needed it to bridge between a Fotodiox speedlight bracket with a Alien Bee ring.
Does the trick and for the price it's what's needed and nothing more. It works and short of having a friend with a metal shop it's exactly what I needed.

I was in a hurry for this and the other brand I really wanted was out of stock. This works well, but seems a bit flimsy. My biggest concern is that over time, I believe the thin flange that fits the modifier will start wearing the material of the modifier out. I'll probably put a few layers of Gaffer Tape around that edge as a precaution. Also, this is great indoors, but I don't have a lot of faith in it in any kind of wind outside. If you're working over expensive people or things you don't want to hurt, a couple of safety cables go a long way with this system. You wouldn't any of it reaching the floor when it goes.

The EZ-Pro softboxes I bought came with the cheap inserts shown by the other reviewer, which was very disappointing and why I bought these. These are great -- as high quality as other speedrings that come with other Fotodiox (non-EZ-Pro) softboxes. I'm very satisfied!

I purchased this product knowing that it was too big for my Paul Buff equipment. I knew I would have to cut a bit off the edge, I had to cut approximately .25 inches to be exact. Once I made the cuts this ring worked great and allowed me to mount my 48" octobox to my Flashpoint Xplor 600. The reason that I only gave this product 3 stars is because the product that I received was not the same item advertised. The Bowens mount is actually plastic and not metal as advertised. Fotodiox should definitely update the images on their product.

Not a strong Bowens mount

The product came bent a little on the edges. It is the same kind of bowens mount that originally came with my fotodiox diffuser and it broke. This was my replacement choice. The diffuser is excellent but the mount is not sturdy. I can bend it with my hands. I will invest in a more sturdy mount in the future.

Received these yesterday, they went straight out to the location we were shooting. One of the inserts was damaged upon arrival, we had to re form the lip with a c-stand so it would function right. That's the main reason for the 3/5 rating. The product isn't as shown in the photos, the Bowens mount is a darker material and has been attached to the insert, hoping it holds up to rigorous work. Placed the insert into a Paul c buff ring, using my old alien bee modifiers with the godox was really a cost saving for me as I don't need to rebuy a bunch of speed rings and modifiers! Overall product does what it needs to, wish the product was like the image and one machined piece, and hadn't arrived dented.

This is a really solid and thick metal speedring for a bowens mount strobe. I bought this to fit a fotodiox octagon softbox to my interfit studio strobe. Its quite a rugged little adapter and much nicer then the one fotodiox supplied. overall this is a really rugged adapter and holds my 5ft octa in place with no issues.
