Clinton is a Past-President of the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter of the American Statistical Association and a Council member for the Section on Practice of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences. Clinton received degrees from Carnegie Mellon University and American University.

Finally a book that focuses on working with spreadsheets with Python. Like many other people, I am a heavy excel user and needed a guide to working with excel that went beyond your normal introductory load file and spit out some superficial row/column slices.

GREAT book with plenty of useful examples and exercises on working with Python (examples are in base python, pandas and base python with regular expresssions) for excel and csv files. The author is great at explaining the concepts and walking through each line of code to help you understand what each piece is doing.

I am a Python beginner and try to learn it using this book. However, while I was using this book, I found some errors which do not make me move forward. Because I am not an expert, I can't find what parts were wrong to fix. For example, when I was practicing to make codes for reading and writing CSV files, I followed the instruction and typed exact codes in the book (page 62 and 71) and run those. But the result says "IndexError: list index out of range" and "OSError: [Errno 9] Bad file descriptor", and etc. Like I said, I am a beginner so I maybe wrong, or I use different version of Python (I use v3.5) but I am still not getting that it is "FOUNDATION" for analytics with Python. Now, I wasted my time to find solutions and money. I do not even look at the book. But more importantly, I am just worried about my interests on Python being faded away. I should have better used any online tutorials.
