About the Author
Carrie Lindquist is a homeschool graduate, wife to Wayne, and momma to two energetic boys. She is a passionate advocate for homeschooling and loves helping new-to-homeschooling moms to realize that homeschooling through the early years isn't scary - it's really just an extension of all the fun things they are already doing with their children! When she isn't cleaning the endless little messes her boys create, you can find her encouraging moms to embrace the calling of everyday faithfulness on her blog, aneverydaymom.com.

In addition to these obvious errors, I feel the book is incomplete. Not all blends are taught, and not all vowel sounds. The OO sound, for example, is nowhere to be found. I find it hard to understand why CK and WH are included but not others, like SP. When we got to the end I had to double check whether it said “Book 1” or something, like maybe we were missing something. In my opinion, all the common phonics blends should be represented in a phonics program. Also, special rules about K being silent when it is paired with n at the beginning of a word, or W being silent when paired with an R at the beginning of a word. These seem like very basic things to cover.
I have brought the typos to the publisher’s attention and they have mostly receptive to my suggestions and corrections. In one case, however, they refuse to admit their book is wrong. I checked with a few friends of mine who have teaching and advanced English degrees and they agreed with me about the error so it’s unfortunate Master Books doesn’t want to make the correction.
I’m giving the book two stars because we did finish it and I liked the format of the lessons. I think a lot more work needs to be done with it, though and in its current edition I can not recommend it. Master Books needs a better proofreading system. Pretty disappointed.
