This is the biggest piece of garbage ever.

Biggest piece of garbage. It was installed properly on a clean smooth surface and suction cup came off. The screw that held one of the joints together scratched the roof of my car beyond repair. I will stick with a good ol car cover. My main point was to save my paint from the sun and in 1 night this piece of worthless item did the exact opposite. If I can sue this company I would. I am beyond livid with such a poorly invented product. Upon trying to return it after the using for one night the motor died so I couldn't close it. After dragging this parachute sized umbrella into my house and plugging it in for 2 hours to charge nothing happened. This is by far the worse thing I have ever purchased. HUGE REGRET!

I had high hopes for this product. I have my car parked outside most of the time and wanted something to prevent sun/UV damage. After receiving and installing the product, within 24 hours one of the plastic hinges snapped in two because of a small gust of wind. Despite having it strapped down at 6 different points, the tent certainly acts more like a parachute than anything else.

The only somewhat bright side to this was that support was quick to respond. They sent out replacement parts, which took over 2 weeks to arrive because they were being mailed from Shenzen China. Once I received the replacement hinge, I tried once more. And again, in less than 24 hours, another gust of wind snapped another hinge. This time the results were much worse. The suction base was lifted off my roof and the entire thing start moving around on my hood. It left scratches all along the hood, both fenders and the top of the roof. For both incidents, I have a Nest cam pointed and was able to rewatch both incidents. Now I have to file a claim to get my panels repainted. Needless to say, this thing is being returned.

Do not buy this piece of junk.

The car tent is nice. I got the 4.5 meter for my Lincoln Navigator L and Ford Raptor to keep the bird droppings off the black paint. It almost covers the entire length with about 2-3 feet of the rear of each still exposed. There are 4 sets of straps, 1 set are loops for the mirrors and the other 3 have hooks. I worry that the plastic hooks would scratch the paint so I only use 1 pair and I hook those to the backseat head rest and close the door on the strap. The last two sets, I don’t use. The only thing I would improve is some sort of back up system if the motor goes out. I know the manufacturer has indicated they will replace or somehow repair if that happens, but at some point all motors fail. The security strap is also too short to work in my vehicles, but that is not a big deal for me. It definitely keeps the vehicle cooler as advertised. The carrying / storage bag could be slightly bigger, it takes a bit of work to get it back in the bag. All in all, happy with the purchase, it does what I was expecting it to do and it generates a look of inquisitive looks.

The reason this product was returned was because it would not sit on the roof of my SUV between the double sun roofs due to the roof ridges. Even if the roof of the SUV had worked, the product is too heavy for a small female to reach up to install and remove from the top of the car. I would have needed a ladder!

I have a black car, no garage or carport and live in SE United States which gets very hot with lots of sunshine. I saw this product and thought this would solve my problems of a hot, hot car. At 1st, it was great but after about a dozen uses the suction cup that holds it to the roof of my car quite holding. Once it turned loose, the supports left long scratches and gashes in my car paint. I will not use it ever again!
