By: Nathan Goodman
5 out of 5 stars
The story Spy Thriller: The Fourteenth Protocol: A Story of Espionage and Counter-terrorism (The Special Agent Jana Baker Spy-Thriller Series Book 1) by Nathan Goodman is a mystery/thriller/terrorism book. There is a terrorist on the loose, people are dying and another attack is going to happen. Special Agent Jana Baker is a new agent. She stumbles across a clue that could break the case of who are carrying out attacks on the American people. Will she be able to stop the next attack in time?
This story has a fast and furious pace that just never lets up. As this is the first book in what looks to be a series I can’t wait to read the next one. The story has a lifelike feel to it as it really could happen. As you keep reading chapter after chapter you will become enthralled with the twists and turns that will have you wishing you could read just a little faster to find out what happens next. There are many characters in this story and you come to realize that saying which ones are good and which ones are what I call “the bad guys” is a gray area.
If you love your books action packed, you don’t have to look any further than this one. I highly recommend it. Don’t left the length of the story make you shy away from reading. I have read many books in this genre and it is up there with the books I have read by Tom Clancy and Robert Ludlum. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
Are there questions that I need to ask, of course there are. Perhaps I’ll find my answers in the post-quel. In terms of the plot, the speed at which the story moved, the ability to evoke so much emotion, I would have to say this is by far one of the best books I’ve read, period.
This novel is up there with the best in the genre. Nathan weaved a masterful story that has plenty of twist and turns of a true thriller. There are things in the novel that made me ask why that scene or detail are in the novel, then Nathan answered my question later on. The bread crumbs made this novel. The characters all had their places and played them well. One will keep cheering on the good guys to find the next clue.
Some of the reviews have had issues with the ending. My response would be: Get Over It!!! It was perfect for this pulse pounding novel.
Nathan is a Fresh voice in this genre. He wrote a tale that could very well happen today. The values, sense of honor and a true portrait of the world we live in today.
Awesome Novel Nathan!!!!
Be sure to watch for the loons….
The Fourteenth Protocol is a wonderful spy thriller that the author, Nathan A Goodman, moves the story at a high speed with action on every page. Jena, a fearless newbie FBI agent with a sharp mind and the ability to be at the right place at the right time.
When she receives a low level surveillance assignment that turns into hottest lead in the nation she and many others are in a race of time to solve the problem. Wonderfully written start to finish, don’t miss this one you will certainly be missing out. Big thumbs up to Mr. Goodman.
