This is a product of amazingly poor quality. I'd frankly give it one star, but given that my original intent was to slice it up into little squares for sitting on while camping, it does actually work well for my purposes. The pad is scuffed to the point that there are some small chunks missing from the edges, and one of the straps is actually missing--leaving behind a large spot of crusted adhesive where it should be attached. Would it work for camping? Yes. Would I spend this much money on it again? No way.

Not standard issue, but as far as a PT mat for working out and sleeping, this will do.

For those who served in the Army (myself), you'll know that the standard issue PT mat has OD green straps attached to the mat. So you roll the mat in the same direction every time, so that the two straps are on the outside and you can wrap them around the mat and tie them.

Instead, this mat does not have straps attached to it. It has two black, elastic straps you just throw over each end after rolling. Again, the standard issue PT mat straps were not elastic... you had to tie them.

Secondly, this mat isn't as durable as the standard issue mat. I'm pretty sure I can just rip this in half with my hands, but that wasn't the case with the standard issue mat. Those things got abused and still held up. This one gets rips and nicks easily.

(I don't know what strap is in the picture... something with a buckle? I got black elastic)

The item is not as described and looks completely different from the pictures here. There are no straps that come with it, Instead, we received 2 homemade ribbons that are meant to be straps. Most importantly, the material is very rigid and hard to roll and unroll and we have no option but to return this. We also had a bad experience with this seller "Allegheny" in regards to a refund. All in all, a horrible experience.

I was very disappointed when this arrived and it was made in China. I own a US Army issue pad,and I am very happy with it.I was going on a scout trip with my son and I was forced to keep and use it. I would had sent it back if I had more time. This is not army issue. I wish that I could get my money back

This is a no frills, USGI sleeping mat. The service from AS was EXCELLENT, as usual. Ordered on the 5th and received on the 8th, without having to pay extra for the privilege of good service. I'm looking forward to putting this item to good use.

It's better than nothing...but not by much.

It's too bulky for the insulation/comfort you get from it. It's also not sized well to fit, shall we say, taller-than-average or wider-than-average people. And I've never been comfortable on this pad. I would frankly prefer spending time gathering leaves and things over using this.

There is a plus, in that it's simple to deploy and stands up to the elements, but then there are much better foam pads out there that offer more insulation and are just as durable.

My advice is to steer away from this pad.

This item is not very thick, so if you are looking for comfort, buy an air mattress. This item is great for me, as I travel by motorcycle or horseback to camp frequently, and do not have a lot of space to pack extra stuff.

The mat is good on damp ground in a lean to, after one has prepared the ground for sleeping. Put the mat over the pine straw, and roll out your bag, good to go!

I like keeping things simple, my gears no exception. If you want something that keeps you off the ground and away from moisture, do yourself a favor and purchase one for yourself. It makes all the difference in the world.
