I first saw this whisk on Nigella Bites and had a hard time finding it. I absolutely love this whisk. Not as bulky as a regular whisk and great for whisking lumps out of sauces and scrambling eggs. There is nothing else like it on the market in my opinion. I am even thinking about buying another one...just in case.

I've been trying for a long time to find the little whisk that Nigella Lawson uses in her cooking shows, but they're always "out of stock." Having tried several others that were definitely NOT what I was looking for, I found this little fella. It's not all that fancy, but does come darn close to Nigella's, and does a great job of mixing gravies, sauces, eggs, etc. I use it almost every day for something - and have given several to friends who also find it a very useful little utensil.

When I first reviewed this I gave it just three stars and complained of the coil slipping. Now I own two and I LOVE this tool. It makes me sigh if I reach for one and they're BOTH in the dishwasher dirty. :( Yes, the coil slips around and I still feel that's a design flaw. However, this is just such a wonderful tool for sauces and scrambling eggs and so many things. It just makes life easier and works better than a fork because you can really get the bottom of the pan or bowl better with this whisk. I saw that someone had marked my review as helpful for this item when it still had three stars. I felt bad that someone might have passed up this gem because of my hasty review. So, since Amazon does not have a search feature for your reviews (grrrrr... -- if anybody knows of one, please tell me) I just spent the last fifteen minutes of my time as an act of pennace searching through years of reviews to find this review and write it the proper lofy one it deserves. And so now I have set this right.

Nigella set me onto this. I know the Barefoot Contessa says she doesn't buy gadgety things that only do one or two tasks and blah blah preachy blah. I love Ina, she rocks, but I bet she secretly has one of these hidden in her kitchen drawer, tucked waaaay back, out of sight and she secretly uses it all the time and LOVES it!!!! It's just really nice to have and I'm sure Ina would agree. Buy one for your mom and sister and bestie and Ina and anybody else you think might enjoy one.

There are various versions of this style of whisk around; this is the one I have, and I would never want to lose it.

Nothing emulsifies better: salad dressings, mayonnaise, etc., comes together smoothly and effortlessly.

I also like this for beating eggs for omelets, but it can make them almost too frothy.

I would just LOVE to have one of Nigella Lawson's Swiss Whisks with the chunky, rounded handle in those awesome retro colors, and while this particular whisk is of comparable size and design, its handle is merely a continuation of the large gauge wire that holds the small gauge coil which is, unfortunately, a tad loose, seeing as how it is not soldered on to the frame. For that, it lost a star... but it holds tightly (at least for me) in all the other stars, as it is still a sturdy little thing all in all, and it accomplishes what it sets out to do - whisk light mixtures and sauces whilst maintaining a minimalist kitchen decor...

Am I happy with my purchase? Most definitely!

These are very cool!!! My newest favorite utensil! The spiral moves around a bit on the base, but it works great and so far is easy to clean! It's nice and lightweight, but sturdy for storage in a crowded utensil drawer-even though I am using it constantly!

I had this whisk when I was a kid. When my old one finally rusted away (after 10 years), I was thrilled to find this as a replacement. So far, after 3 months of daily use, no rust. This is a rare product that actually gets better over the years.
