Seriously, this was such a fun, snarky, hilarious read. It has moments of seriousness as well. I love that Fox is his actual name. I love how he calls Sophie Lollipop. And I need a support group. I think I have a Fox addiction problem. You can't end a book on a question! Does that mean there is a sequel to Fox and Sophie's story? Or will one of Sophie's friends take up the task to bring a new story and give us snippets of Henry growing to a toddler? I need answers! No fair! Actually, in all honesty, it is fair. I love the author's writing. I would definitely recommend this as a way to start reading S.M. Lumetta's work. Its the first book I am reading from this author, so of course its the one I will say. :)
Sophie is reproductively challenge and before her body goes kaput, she decides to have a baby. She goes on a series of dates for the potential father, but then eventually comes to the realization that her best friend Fox is a viable option They know each other's pasts and secrets so why not?
I really enjoyed the banter between the two. Like most of their friends most likely thought, what took them so long to come together! They obviously were perfect for each other, and you see this a lot during the baby making scenes. I've never read so much hilarity in steamy scenes and it really fit this couple perfectly.
There were some heartbreaking moments and it wasn't looking good for the couple at one point, but I was relieved when the cause of the heartache was finally resolved.
The banter is what made the story for me, however there were some points in the book that I wished it wish it tugged more at the heart strings instead of making me laugh.
As a whole the story was awesome and I can't wait to hear from the other characters, especially her brother Cam

What happens when your body decides to play games and not behave in the way it’s supposed to? That’s the question that Sophie is left facing when her doctor tells her that at the age of 28 she is perimenopausal. At the very least. Worst case scenario, she was in full on menopause. All it meant to Sophie was that her choices of when or if to have a child were being taken away from her.
Faced with the daunting and expensive option of harvesting and freezing her eggs or chasing down a hot-bloodied donor, she chooses option 2, due to lack of funds. After months of bad dates she is left with ask a friend as her only viable choice.
Enter Fox, childhood best friend and a manic, crazy sometimes overly childish guy. He saves the day, agreeing to help stuck a bun in her oven. Hilarity ensues along with some seriously sexy scenes.
It’s only meant to be sexy for the sake of procreation, but life has a way of making you see people in new light. Sophie’s epiphany scares her but she hopes Fox shares her new view. But does he?
Will he stick around for the long haul, or bail at the first opportunity?
Fox and Sophie, or Lolls as he calls her short for Lollipop, are a super cute couple. I really loved their chemistry and the way the played off each other. The story was great, had me crying ( mid-Atlantic no less, that got some looks, let me tell you).
I’m looking forward to supporting characters Doc and Nora’s tale as I’m sure they have one to tell.
Deeper than I thought.
Full of heart.
And there is Christopher Mason on the cover.. I just had to get that to pet over and over and over again.
Cannot wait for Doc to get his story!
