The story is filled with mystery, fantastical creatures both good and evil, magic, and regency style romance. I found Elizabeth and George adorable together and loved their sweet little romance. The villains were horrible and I wanted nothing more than to see the end of them. The finale of the story was staisfying and gave the characters their much deserved happily ever after.
If you have OCD then be warned that the printing company changed the page format on pages 40-42 and you will want to tear your hair out.
The story starts out reading like Pride and Prejudice. But it quickly turns into something a bit more glossy, while still keeping the same drama but without a quick, Sassy main character.
The book is not a standard or predictable read in the sense of how most books turn out, which makes it better than some despite the reader having to fill in so many blanks with the characters.
Won’t reread, and not happy I paid so much for it when there are just as many similar reads on fiction press and in the kindle library for free.

she is increasingly interested in, is only half human she is more ready to accept this than most women.
However, her romance with George isn't helped by the unwanted attentions of Nathan and his smarmy sister.
The manners of the time forces her and her sister and brothers to be polite to the persistent pair. Nathan takes
this as encouragement and refuses to take "no" for an answer.
There were some interesting ideas in the book - the "hidden" two paranormal countries, the 9-tailed foxes,
the "tree" creature who befriends Elizabeth, etc. Elizabeth puts herself in danger in order to protect those she
loves.
Two small niggles. There was some modern language which jarred - "WOW"; "I love you guys": "my bum ankle"??
come to mind. The book would read better with these removed. Also parts of the book were repetitive. The scene at
the ball was repeated almost intact later in the book. Also Elizabeth tells the goblin in detail about George, which again
was repetitive. Apart from that, it was an interesting book
