- Reviewed in the United States on March 28, 2016Facts about the harmful health impacts, half-truths, political corruption, legislation that favors less regulation, tax and environmental exemptions given only to the gas industry, campaign contributions to supporters, naming the carcinogenic chemicals used, inflating the number of jobs created, people leaving state department of environmental protection to work for the gas industry, neglecting to mention that number of well inspectors has decreased while number of wells has increased, not explaining the difference between conventional and horizontal drilling, hiding information about leaking casements, earthquakes, and wastewater disposal and use for irrigating crops in drought-stricken areas. A must read for people who care about their children and the world that we are leaving to them.

- Reviewed in the United States on October 4, 2016When future generations look back in confounded horror at the sordid history that led to the devastating effects fracking has had on their country, Walter Brasch’s book Fracking America will surely provide them with a detailed compendium to help them understand. Brasch’s book, which represents nearly seven years of research, is a necessary antidote to the toxic effluence of advertising and public relations campaigns spouted by the oil and gas industry over the past decade meant to fool the public into thinking that fracking is a safe, “homegrown” energy that will miraculously grant America energy independence. Fracking America, with its exhaustive research (supported with 70 pages of endnotes) and first-hand accounts of people on the front lines dealing with the deleterious effects of the fracking boom-and-bust cycle, testifies to the truth about the shale gas and oil industry often ignored by mainstream media. I, for one, am grateful that Walter Brasch has cared enough about the injustices committed against Earth, children, women, men and communities to bear witness to this painful history as it is unfolding. And my hope is that armed with the information Brasch has provided, these children, women, men and communities will align with Earth and rise up to take back their rights for clean water, air and land.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 23, 2016This is a fantastic book written by an extremely knowledgeable and accurate author. I highly recommend this purchase as it is an incredible resource for all who want to know and understand the truth about all aspects of fracking from the beginning of its destruction and how it affects so many lives, ecosystems, environment and the planet.
Walter Brasch is one who shares his research and knowledge in way that is easy to follow and understand. Hes one of the best who provides us with fracking information that all should know.
