I don't know how Book 1 ends as I haven't finished it, so I can't ruin the ending...but I had to write about how well this book is written and the ingenious way the Ms. Sera used a Chapter for each of the main 3 characters...a great POV story!
I put "some" for the sexual content because sex is not the predominate focus of the book...but rather the love and the healing of Sydney that the people surrounding her have for this young woman.
I have pre-ordered Book 2...can't wait to see what happens!
Colin and Anthony are bothered about a worker at their company. Something seems to be wrong with Sydney, who works in the building. Colin spots scars on her wrists and she behaves in a very submissive manner. They try to get to know her, but she seems scared of letting people get to know her. She reaches out to Colin in online chat asking about good BDSM culture. She ends up going to a social evening at Colin's place and meeting some friendly people who are in the local exclusive BDSM club. However, after Anthony drops her back home her brutal boyfriend beats her up again and leaves her chained to a heater. She gets a text message off to Anthony who comes to rescue her. He is horrified at the condition she is in and takes her to hospital. Neith Anthony or Colin are prepared to let her go back to her flat and she is taken back to Colin's place. Sydney has difficulty believing that she is worthy of being cared for as her boyfriend has spent a long time telling her he tortures her as she is so unworthy and bad., How are Anthony and Colin going to convince their "fragile kitten" that she is worth saving.
This is a dark book, but there is light and hope in the story. There is a considerable depth to the book and I found it hard to put down. Once I finished this book I went straight onto the next book, and I plan to read the entire series, even though they are more expensive than the books I normally buy.
I love D/s books, this book was so much more. The dynamic between Anthony, Colin, and Sydney had me all up in my feelings.
Anthony, he's nothing like I expected, he is warm, loving, charismatic, witty, funny. He is the ideal Dom, he's sexy, strong, alpha as hell (is it getting warm up in here?) just lacks the one thing Sydney does... confidence.
Sydney story is very emotional. She is a very damaged girl, mentally and physically. Her desires for kink have lead her to someone very dangerous. Sydney is a natural submissive, and desires only one thing, a loving Dom. With the help of Colin, a master at Club Irons, can she find that loving Dom?
Colin Everett. Delicious, he is. He's so controlled and dominate, he is the epitome of MAN. He is a loving and kind dom. Who has an undeniable attraction to Sydney.
Have I confused you about how these three are connected yet? If so, good. I hope it's intrigued you enough to read this book. It is so incredibly written with so much detail and emotion. Well done, Drew Sera! You definitely have an instant fan here, I can't wait to find out what happens with Colin, Anthony, and Sydney.
I am not a book reader for say...but Yes I did read the other series 50 (you know) years ago about as fast as I am reading these now.
I sincerely share with you...this series is much better. I love that this writer creates vivid characters that come alive. Each chapter is written through the eyes of one another.. You are in the moment and the chapter changes and you hear from another character what they are feeling, thinking, or doing at that same situation.
I know you will also enjoy the whole series as much as I have! Worth the investment! Happy readings!!
Drew Sera is fantastic and will answer any questions you may have! I
