Instead this book arrived, and as I dipped into it, I found it was a book on moving to France. Where to buy, the merits of each region, notes on how each region's culture might impact the new arrival.
As such, it's a great book I'm sure, but I REALLY wish there had been a trifle more explanation given on this book. I shouldn't have ordered it without waiting for Amazon to get their "look inside" feature up and running.
If you want a book on moving to France, this is your book.
If you are looking for more on the style of her previous book, How to be Impossibly French, or perhaps more in the Entre Nous type of book by Debra Ollivier, you will be disappointed. Get Entre Nous if you haven't read it yet, and want a sequel to How to be Impossibly French.
In the end I am from Canada, and the cost of sending it back and eating the cost of shipping it, is worth more than I paid due to the US Canada exchange rate so I won't bother.
I'll sell it here to my second hand bookstore but I'm making it my personal motto to NEVER buy a book online without a little more reading as to what the book is about, and reading a few excerpts.
I give it a 2 star, partly because it wasn't advertised properly, or put into a "how to buy foreign real estate" category, and partly because it simply wasn't as fun to read although it did have some interesting points on french culture.
Just not enough to justify what I spent on it.
This is not the author's fault, nor the book's fault but it is something that other buyers may want to be aware of.
