Shoe: Franco Sarto Women's Cicero Pump
Time: I am reviewing the shoes having worn them 80 days and owning them 5 months
Colour: Pewter Metallic Snake (5 Stars - I honestly cannot describe how much more impressive the look of this shoe is in person! It possessed a versitility I did not anticipate allowing me to pair it with most outfits.)
Price: $37.67 with Prime shipping (3 Stars - The other colours at the time were about double the cost)
Fit: Size 8 (5 Stars - I (expect) to wear an 8 in every shoes except deeply pointed heels (where I expect to wear 8.5). These fit true to size without "toe-cleavage" or pinching right out of the box. I wore them 8 hours straight on my first day on grass, gravel, dirt, concrete, pavement, tile and carpet. There was no slippage on any surface, nor could I "feel" the surface beneath my feet. This is with 160lbs of me (towering at 5'10" for those that want to do the physics of it) typically lifting files to small children.
Material: 2.5 Stars - While the shoe construct is sturdy (no fear of parts separating or breaking as I race between meetings), the lovely finish is soft and as a results scuffs easily. Had I stuck to only pavements or put my heels on only once I'm indoors I'm sure it would be a 4.5 rating. However if you drive in your heels, walk on uneven surfaces or use your foot to push open/close doors as you pass through with an arm load of files, you will get scuffed pretty early on. I detest scuffs so marked off heavily HOWEVER I must admit that the unique shiny scale effect and varying shades in the colour does make it difficult to tell while they are on your feet but once off the battle scars are quite evident.
Comfort (5 stars - I wear these heels on average 10 hours a day without discomfort. Some heels require you to switch to flats during the day, some I'm told you barely make it from the car to the event but bear it becuase the shoe looks amazing. I am of the opinion that my feet should look amazing...which means painful shoes that change the shape of my feet and give bunions and hammer toes and impair walking is insanity for me. These shoes have never been anything but comfortable. The first three days one of my feet would begin to hurt a little after about 6 hours wear but I attribute that to these heels being my first heel after 6 weeks flat with ankle issues.
Overall (4 Stars - I am going to order another pair for my not-so "rough and tumble" moments and continue wearing my battle-tested to work when I need to stay on my feet but in heels comfortably.)
update***tried walking around in these with a thick sock but even that was too painfully tight. I didnt try extreme measures (like a shoe stretcher) to make them fit. they were returned. I ordered a 6.5 in black patent thinking maybe they would fit. The toe area was not too tight and actually felt good but they were too long. Boo
However, these particular shoes fit smaller than I expected. I've actually lost weight, but these shoes feel like I've gained weight. Not sure if the manufacturer changed or what - but the shoe doesn't fit the same as it has in the past. I'm going to have the shoes stretched only because I waited so long for them to come back in stock, but if I were to reorder I would order a 1/2 size up.
I'm a 7.5 - I would order the 8 if I were to order again.
I was looking for a pair of plain, black pumps that would be comfy, but wouldn't be grandma looking (if you're a grandma and you're reading this - no offense, I'm sure you are very sexy compared to the stereotypical grandma!). The main purpose was to find pumps I could wear to a wedding I was in as a bridesmaid. As a bridesmaid, there is a lot of running around, going up and down stairs, and then getting down with your bad self dancing too. So I needed something that wouldn't make me curse high heels by the end of the night.
These are the shoes ladies. These have an almond toe, with the stitching that goes up the toe. They have a hidden platform and are very sexy.
I'll be honest, my feet were a little sore by the end of the night - but considering being on my feet for almost 10 hours in these guys - they were perfect. I've worn them with my suits for work, and done facility and manufacturing tours wearing these guys - - A+ Franco. :)
