This type of puller has been around for over 25 years. It was originally the old green Quinetics puller, which at the time it came out, was under patent. It's now off patent and is being produced under several names. I believe RCBS purchased Quinetics. I compared both the blue Frankford and the green RCBS side by side and they are identical in every way (same mold even!) except for the color. This is a time-proven design. Excellent in every way and elegant in it's simplicity. The Frankford comes with 3 collets, but you really only need the one 98% of the time. I bought this to disassemble a lot of 7mm Mag cartridges that would not chamber (belted Mags are tricky to reload...) 2 or 3 whacks and the bullet and powder are sitting inside the puller chamber. Who could ask for more? I highly recommend this item as an essential tool for the reloader.

I tried pulling bullets from 3 rounds, and had given up after 20-30 whacks, each round, on solid wood- the end grain of an Oak scrap! I did not have a successful extraction yet. Thought I might break this thing wide open. And I'm thinking-
"I know how to swing a hammer, I'm a carpenter. I have the finesse. This stupid #$*@! thing oughtta work!"

So then my buddy tries it on the concrete floor, with a small piece of corrugated under it.
Sure enough, 2 blows and the bullet is out! So, contrary to the instructions, you need a wicked-haahd surface to whack this thing against. Not the endgrain of a piece of wood. Then I had him extract the rest of 'em!

So I changed my review from 3 stars to 4- It's good, it works now, I like it, and I don't think it'll break. 4 because the instructions said use wood. (yeah, I read the instructions, I know)

Cheap, effective and easy to use. Pulled several test bullets a couple of accidental loads with no primer. Worked great everytime. Yes it takes a few bullet 'pulls' to develop the proper technique but after that 3 whacks on an average crimp will release the bullet. NO they don't recommend use on factory ammo. So of course I did. Wanted to compare with my own tight crimp. If the bullet is realy crimped in there prepare your patience. I think it took.about 30 solid taps. Could also be my form was the problem. However, this type heavy crimp pull is not what the tool is designed for. Tested with 45 ACP. I imagine the reviews where people couldn't figure this out took a second look and racked the 'duh' factor. I didn't have an issue. Simple instructions on a simple tool. If you cant figure out this tool by the instructions you might want to re-think reloading your own ammo all together.

Been re-loading bullets for over 30 years. Bought my first inertial bullet puller a few weeks back after discovering a batch of cast bullets would not chamber in a new firearm. Used this to pull the bullets on over 200 cartridges. Two or three whacks and 'presto' the bullet is out and the powder charge is saved. Nice, sturdy, handy tool to pull lead bullets, but doesn't work very well on copper clad bullets with a cannelure. For these you'll need a collet-type puller.

This bullet puller works very well. It even works when the bullet was crimped improperly, saving the cartridge casing. I don't think the instructions are very clear, so some people might have trouble understanding how to use it effectively. Once I tried it a couple of times, I determined the proper way to use it. There are more expensive model bullet pullers available, but I don't think they would work any better.

Works great and comes with multiple grommets. I will reuse undamaged bullets but this had no padding inside to protect the bullet when it drops out. Since I use Ballistic Tips, this is really needed. I used the piece of felt padding from my broken puller and everything is fine. Nice product but add a piece of felt to rubber padding!

I bought this puller to remove some bullets from incorrectly loaded hand loads. It did everything as promised. I was a little concerned about how I was going to separate the powder from the bullet but the design of the hammer makes this very easy. The end of the hammer is shaped into a cone and the powder goes into the cone. Just tip the hammer at a slight angle and the bullet slides out and the powder stays in. Could not be any easier.

Used it several times and it is a must for reloading. I am new to reloading and can't imagine not having it to fix my too deep " mistakes". Use it mostly for my initial die setup .
