I received this tumbler June 9. I actually placed the order May 26 and it shipped out of Lexington, Kentucky on May 28th. So, it took nearly two weeks to arrive. Oddly, FedEx carried it cross country for the Post Office. Yep, you read that right. The USPS contracted with FedEx to do the actually shipping. Tracking records show it left Salt Lake in the wee hours June 2 but it didn't show up in Idaho Falls for SIX DAYS! It's a 3.5 hour drive from here to SLC. Go figure. I was extremely frustrated with the whole shipping SNAFU. Beware.
Now, here's a tip. Go to a big box pet store and buy lizard bedding. You can probably get a 10 quart bag for $12-$13. It's finely ground walnut shell and it's far cheaper and works better than the ground walnut shell you would buy at a gunshop or a big box sporting goods store. I'm not even using any chemical additive in the lizard bedding and the casings are turning out beautifully bright and clean. One 10 quart bag is a huge amount of tumbling media and should last the average small reloader a really long time.
No this isn't close (IMO) to my years of use Tumbler's UV-18 Tumbler, but it's effective getting brass clean for a bargain price.
Smaller compact size depending on your size batch needs. Good for those smaller batch needs.
I use walnut media and ran it on the garage work bench and it didn't walk from start location.
It's a little loud (compared to my UV-18) but what do ya expect for the price point.
Assembly required to mount the bowl - instructions so not to over-tighten the fasteners risk of cracking plastic.
Power cord a little on the short side but for my location it makes the receptacle.
For the price, especially for the beginner, or budget, should be an affordable way to get into a vibrating tumbler.
My plan is to get into more range shooting this fall/winter and wanted a separate small tumbler for small pistol brass. So far this tumbler gets the job done - for the price, it works. Just hope I get a few years use.
Have left it on all night more than once, the thing is sturdy beyond belief.
Bought this one from Amazon over a year ago, by the way it cleans cases great as well.
Unbeatable for twice the price.
To separate the rice from the brass, I dump the whole pile of rice/brass into a collander that sits on top of a mop bucket. Takes a minute or so to separate it all out depending on the amount of brass. Just shake it around good.
It makes a little noise, but it's in my shop, and upstairs I don't hear a sound from it, so I don't care how much noise it makes.
I'm very glad I found this product on Amazon.com, and expect a lot of years use from it.
