I use it to also fasten foam to wood and certain upolstery fabrics to the foam, for building displays. If used to bond wood and upolstery foam, you must put the item flat and weigh down the foam overnight. About 5-10# a square foot and make sure it won't permanently dent your foam (I usually put another sheet of luan over the foam then put the weight on, filled and capped gallon jugs of water work well) The fabric I will glue as another pass after the foam is adhered, and CHECK FOR BLEED-test first! Some things a thin coat works well, some fabrics it will discolor, bleed through, or become too stiff to be pinnable. TEST FIRST.
I consider Titebond II to be a good allaround glue, I stock that and the Gorilla Glue water activated poly stuff.
Just be careful about not losing the cap.
After many nights of gluing the popsicles together with this glue it was time to break them. We all gathered round. First bridge type was a regular beam bridge. The bridge held over 25 pounds and the glue held, it was the sticks that broke. Second bridge type was a truss bridge. An entire bucket filled with water and the bridge wasn't even close to breaking. We finally had to give up, we didn't have any way to add more weight. 10/10 would buy this glue again.
This was messy, and causes me to be nursing one cap for seven quarts.
Cleaning up the glue leaking out of the box, on the porch where the delivery was dropped, does not make for a good consumer experience.
Amazon needs to examine their shipping practices.
Works great in amp rack or sub box building. Great consistency for both applications, doesn't run too fast, easy to smear into corners, cleans up easy. The initial tack is really helpful for car audio applications since you're usually working with larger panels of wood, so it's almost like having an extra hand. Once set, the MDF will split before the joint does.
I really like the bottle, too. I go for months or years between projects, and the cap keeps the glue good to go when I need it. It's easy to crack off the old glue when the buildup gets too big and have a like-new tip.
I don't have a project coming up but I ordered one of these because I lost my old bottle and I'd like to have it when I need it!
dry's quickly and gives you time to reposition if needed.
