Have had it for a month now with no issues using it. We bought wiffle balls with the holes all around and it works perfectly with the unit. Having the heavier balls seems to make the balls come out a lot more consistent than the balls that came with it. Attached a video to show how well it works.

I have been a Baseball Coach for four years now (ages 4-9) in my opinion if you don't have $1.000 to spend on a pitching machine then this is the best option at an amazing price!
I have seen a few of the online reviews, people are complaining because the ball does not go perfectly straight on every pitch, yes about every 5 to 7 pitches the ball will Veer off left or right about a foot or so.. I have found this to be excellent in training for the young children, because not every pitch is perfectly straight anyway.. the ball is pitched at a perfect speed for young kids learning to dial in there hitting.
It is not pitched to hard where you would get a black eye if hit by it so it is excellent for catching training as well.
Every child that used this with me has become a Better all around player after the first day, including neighborhood kids that have never even been on a Baseball team.

After reading other reviews I decided to purchase and also to get some Jugs Poly baseballs. I tested the balls it came with. The stock balls were very erratic. The jugs balls are much more consistent. I'd say on average 8/10 are strikes. Pretty great machine for the money. Talked two other dad's into getting for their kids pretty easily once they saw some videos of my son using it.
Here's the Jugs balls I got. Others may work similar styled as long as diameter is the same. This machine works off friction between two rubber spinning donuts just like a mini Jugs pitching machine.

For a fraction of the cost of a dog launcher, my border collie loves this machine. It took a while to learn the steps (grab ball, drop ball, drop ball in feeder, wait, retrieve ball) but oh so worth it. We use this indoors and out. Highly recommend.

So far, this seems like a great product for the money. My five-yr-old is pumped to have it. He can load it himself and then go stand wait for the pitches. He’s not hitting a lot of the pitches yet, but that’s the idea. I think it could be valuable for kids a little bit older too if they don’t have access to a machine that can throw real balls. The speed will not challenge older hitters much. I’ve tested it with three different kinds of wiffle balls. The balls that came with it (lighter, no holes) -vs- a slightly thicker ball with holes (bought at Dick’s) -vs- some durable and more flexible Precision Impact balls. The Precision Impact balls were wildly inconsistent (maybe they compress too easily). Of the other two, the original balls that came with it have proved to be the more consistent (small sample size). I did not hold the base of the unit, and recoil was minimal. I was shooting the balls on the most flat trajectory the machine can do. The video was recorded with fresh batteries in a fresh machine, just removed from the shipping box.

I like the machine, but the balls that come with it are not very good and really need to be upgraded. My purpose in buying the machine was to use it to practice the volley in tennis, which has a lot of similarities to using it for baseball hitting practice. When I first started using it, at a distance of about 20 feet, balls were moving with a spread of 3 feet or so in height and in width. This seemed to be a bit too much for my intended usage, and I started to wonder whether it was the machine or the balls that was the problem. As I started examining the balls I noticed that when I pressed against it with my thumb, I could feel hard and soft spots, which would explain the large spreads I was getting, because the two spinning rotors on opposite sides of the ball would create different amounts of friction, depending if one roller hit a hard spot and the other hit a soft spot. I cut one of the balls in half to uncover the reason for the hard and soft spots. What I found was the thickness of the plastic shell varied by 2 to 1, which to me means poor quality control in their manufacture. When I pressed where the shell was thicker, it definitely was hard to indent compared to the thinner area. My conclusion was that the balls are the culprit, not the machine.
I read about the feedback on different types of balls that seemed to be compatible with the Franklin machine, and ordered the "Jugs Poly Baseballs" from Amazon at $19.99 per dozen to compare the machine performance with both types of balls. I actually made measurements on the amount of flight spread, size and weight, and also how high they would bounce when dropped from 60 inches on a concrete surface. The jugs balls were superior on all counts. The flight spread was half the amount, and the bounce was 15% better. The jugs are slightly heavier ( 0.8 vs 0.7oz) for better stability in wind, and slightly larger (2.86 vs 2.78 in diameter). The slightly larger size may pensate for roller wear, extending the life of the machine. But the big bonus is a significant increase in speed and range when using the Jugs balls. I highly recommend upgrading the balls if you buy the machine.

So. Much. Fun.

So much fun! Got this for my 6 year old nephew and it had all the kids outside(and a few adults) testing it out. I agree with a few of the reviews that if there is wind it does affect as the balls are light weight it, but there was a breeze when we were using it and it still worked great. We had to of been out there for a few hours and you could tell the batteries were starting to lose some power, but was still kicking. It is unfortunate the size of battery it uses, but I bought the off brand battery at Walmart and it was $14 for 12 batteries, so that’s not too bad! Safety Tips: just don’t let them look directly into the machine and you should be fine haha. It does shoot them out pretty fast and a few kids got hit but there were no tears. Overall this thing was so great and a great tool to help kids with their game. Easy to put together, and the price is right. Get it!

It is a toy pitching machine

Bought this for our 8 year old grandson. Great item for first step after t-ball. Works great for a child's ability to see the ball without the fear of a pitching machine. Used it to hit balls with a plastic bats. Used it for pitching pop ups for catching fly balls. Great little machine for all kinds of baseball drills where you don't have to hit the ball. Cons sometimes two balls drop at a time when it's loaded so we usually only drop one ball at a time. Will only pitch a ball about 30 ft at maximum.

My husband went and bought 100 plastic balls. This will be fun picking up all summer!!!! (sarcasm). My 6 year old wants to hit all the time now. Thank fully I no longer need to pitch to him because I am not that great. We bought rechargeable batteries as suggested, haven't tried them out yet. Planning on taking this camping this summer so we will see how fast it chews through batteries.

Totalmente recomendado.
