Top Customer Reviews
It's a generous size and holds a big bowl of cereal. My son also uses it occasionally for ramen noodles and so far, I have no stains although I avoid putting tomato based foods in this bowl.
While it's very flexible, it's not floppy. and it holds its shape very well. My 6 year old granddaughter carries it full of cereal and milk to the table without spills with no problems.
It is microwave safe but like all silicone, it gets floppier when hot so I'd say it's best for cold to warm foods and not as good for very hot foods.
I've had no problems with the "spilled" parts tearing off. It looks just like it did when I bought it. Very well made. And completely adorable.
Will update after contacting the company.
FIRST REVIEW: Loved these so much that I bought another! One for me and one for my husband. My 7 month old likes to go for our bowls when we are all at the table. I am sure he will succeed someday, but now we will be ready.
I want to address some concerns other reviewers had:
Staining- These do NOT stain if you wash your bowls right away or at least rinse them out before placing them in the sink. I do this, but one my husband put some dirty utensils in it to soak and there were some areas that were getting yellow inside. I clean it thoroughly and they came out for the most part (practically undetectable). But these are for CEREAL, not spaghetti or soaking dirty utensils in, so if you use it for cereal only (its intended purpose) yours will work great. If you are looking for a bowl for any color of food, get a dark silicone bowl if you can find one.
Flexible- These are a very durable silicone (quite unexpected). Yes, they bend, but I never have to use two hands to hold it when taking it to the living room or the dinner table from the kitchen. I would say it may be harder for a 5 year old or less to hold and not spill (but maybe not, I don't have a 5 year old). But it is a pretty decent-sized bowl and more of an adult-sized bowl anyways. Even when I go way over the recommended serving for cereal (which I always do), there is still plenty of room in the bowl.
BLUF- Get if is to be used for cereal and for an adult. Find another for spaghetti or a child.
I've used it a few times myself as well, and I agree with the interior capacity and visual. But i'm not crazy for the flexibility of it. It sits up on its own but is fairly collapsible (with it returning to it's original shape). If you hold the bowl while eating from it, it's a bit cumbersome.
It's easy to clean and has been a talking point with some of our guests who have gotten to try it out.
Again, my only complaint is the instability of the bowl. Otherwise it's a great bowl and fun to have.
Perhaps there should be one--in its own space--at the Guggenheim. Or better yet, at the MET. On its own pedestal. In its own space / room.
Did I also mention it also serves as a perfect snack bowl? lol.
I'd bought them for a friend to keep at 'grandma's house' (hey, she's gotta have special stuff, right?) for her 2 little grandsons. The family is military-nautical....
The set is sturdy--I took them out and played with them, and basically sits 'stuck' together as a boat until you decide otherwise. If I still had little kids, I'd get them a set too.
