Mine came with a recipe booklet. The recipes look pretty standard, but I elected to use the one posted by another reviewer because it was a shortbread style cookie (no leavening) and I thought it would do a better job of preserving the stamped lines in the dough than the baking-powder leavened recipes in the booklet.
Tips:
Follow instructions provided in the booklet! If yours is missing:
Roll the dough between sheets of parchment paper.
Chill the dough before stamping & cutting.
Dip cutter/stamp in flour each time you use it.
Stamp first, then cut out to avoid distorting the shape of the cookie.
The lines will fade when you bake them, so make sure you stamp them deeply.
These look so nice you wouldn't have to ice or sugar them at all.
If you want to be precise about icing, you'll need a collection of small icing tips.
I was most successful with #01 tips.
I used Royal Icing which looks good and dries hard but (in my opinion) tastes awful. That didn't seem to stop anyone, though! My colors were pastel because I don't like the bitter flavor that food coloring imparts. Next year I might try using natural dyes--beet root powder, hibiscus flower, etc. I might also try a different icing to see if I can strike a balance between durability and flavor.

They come out of the oven perfectly crisp and delicious with the stamps intact (as long as you pressed the mold hard enough on the dough before baking).
The tricky part comes when you want to frost it. Make sure you use really liquid royal icing to fill in the wells, otherwise you'll have a rather amateur looking cookie. Give yourself enough time for icing them and you shall have a lot of fun doing it. They might come out so pretty you won't want to eat them

follow the instruction and the cutters work really well .make sure to dust them in flour- then and your cook is dough wil not stick into all the nooks and crannies.
Also role out the dough evenly to get a evenly baked batch of cookies.I used a shortbread recipe with added lemon zest and they tasted as good as thy looked.
This was my first attempt at biscuits using a cutter / press for my sons birthday cake .He loved it ! and I've made more since !

Couple of tips for fellow novice bakers:
- flour the stamp part before using, this made a big difference to the quality of the impression
- don’t use a dough that’s too wet or you will lose the impression as the bake spreads during cooking time
Easy to use, just need to dust them with flour first.
Imprint the design first, then line up and use the other side to cut the shape.
I use a recipe that doesn't swell in the oven too much (especially after a good hour or so in the fridge before they go in the oven).
Here are a couple of photos of my first try!
Love them... Fred, please bring out more designs!

The raised design is nice and deep so gives a nice impression.
Overall good cutters but try not to pay too much.
