There are two tiny drain holes on the bottom. Good idea, but they could have made more or made them bigger. Mine gets clogged up with soggy food immediately. It does get gummed up quicker than my other bird feeders, requires cleaning more often. But a great idea and the birds really do love it. They just park themselves in the tire and eat while it swings.
UPDATE: I knocked it down a star because the black paint chipped off the first time after I cleaned it, now it's half black, half pinkish white. Also, the tiny two drain holes are really insufficient for draining. Item could use more, larger drain holes and a paint that can withstand a wash.
I did reinforce the "rope"with wire, but only because we have a raccoon who makes night visits and has a tendency to take bird seed, feeder, and all! I just can't let him steal this one; I love it.
I hung it out this morning, and I see a bird eating from it right now.
