CONS: The only annoying thing about this book is the author’s desire to be cutesy. It’s mostly in the beginning and fades out for the most-part. He loves saying “WE were not amused...WE were amused...” in the first chapters. I hated that. It was clear that the author would probably love to write a book about himself.
PROS: Every other thing about this book! It gave me a personal glimpse into Freddie. From his wild days, to his behind-the-scenes prep for shows, his feelings about many things, to his final hours. It reads well and doesn’t jump around.
If you love Queen and/or Freddie, you need to read this. I loved it SO MUCH that I also got the electronic Kindle version from Amazon. I have very few books I can pick up after months and just read on and thoroughly enjoy it. This one is like that.
In essence, I was amused. :)
Never got to see Queen in person. My loss..super talented, easily one of the best bands ever.
You are missed...😢
