There are some really good songs on this CD, but I can't rate it higher: sounds like Ty's smokin a bit too much: his voice is rough around the edges. I'm glad I got it, though: I believe he's capable of much greater things.

Pretty decent album! Ty$ is R&B " Ratchet and Blues" I do gotta admit i like the ratchet ty better! With songs like saved, bring it out of me, and only right im sure to get turnt! But the dope thing about this album is there is something for everyone which is unique! Cop the album!

These days it seems everybody in the rap game wants a piece of Ty Dolla $ign (Tyrone Griffin, Jr.). The Taylor Gang lucky charm, Pu$haz Inkster and Atlantic Records server is a multi-instrumentalist and has been a ubiquitous feature on many a hip-hop album from the past few years, mainly for his chorus vocals. For all his rhapsody and trendy charm though, he might very likely just be a gimmicky singer engineered for a rap friendly audience, one that real voice coaches might rip to shreds. Some mixtapes into his rise, the Beach House EP of 2014 let us know he is here to stay for a while and his 2014 XXL Freshmen induction was more icing on the cake. Now L.A. has in Ty its own version of Future and Fetty Wap, a song-hardy rap impersonator to trigger the emotional receptors of our most superficial desires. Released Friday Nov. 13, Ty's debut LP, Free TC (meaning, 'free his brother TC from the clink'), is simply an extrapolation of the where Ty was headed with his r&b style of nine parts singing and one part rapping.

Expectedly, the rap verses do not appear at regular intervals. They are scattered, sporadic and infrequent, and when they do pop up, it's not Ty but his guests who spit them. His nimble impromptu singing admittedly merits a little praise, though he opts for quickly cut off chords instead of operatically tied ones, another expected route. Be prepared for partying, chieffing, a few looks at some fancy cars, and sex (in the music, not in real life), and aside from the few moments when he tries to do the right thing, his only other lasting demeanor is an icy disposition for those females who have wronged him.

At the top, Ty brings life and love to his hometown L.A., and from tracks two through seven, he goes hard at putting down the chicks.

Finally, I've been waiting for this release from Ty. It was well worth the wait. This is a great album, with different styles of music, I would have given five stars but it's not quite there for me. Great Album.

This project (in my opinion) is changing the music game. It's very musical...not just beats and tones. The features on here are great too. I'm totally enjoying his music, like every song! No skips this way. If you enjoy different styles of music...Free TC is it!

Amazing. This album is incredible from track #1-#16. Ty is a real musician and you can clearly here that in the production, vocals and songwriting that is involved with this album. All of the features compliment Ty perfectly on every single track. I've been playing this non stop since it game out. He's bringing back R&B and also creating a new genre with his unique sound. Cant wait to hear more from this guy.

With the amount of guests on this album I figured it would be a pretty solid debut but it fell short, very short. Best songs: LA (because Kendrick made the song better), Saved, and Only Right. Now if we take those guest features out like E-40 & Kendrick I'd score it less but I'll give it 3/5 starts and that's being generous.
