This book is an easy read, with the supernatural woven into the story as if it's an everyday occurrence - which it is for Chuck! I'd highly recommend this book for people of 3 groups:
1) If your from a traditional church background, you really need to read this to learn how God is real and active, and accessible to us for the supernatural. He's not silent, and Chuck shows us how He comes alive - He is the living God! It will radically change your view of God from distant and unknowable, to personable, who responds in real-time to our needs and requests.
2) If you (or someone you know) has been hurt by a church or religion, and has turned away from God, this is a great book for them. Chuck is so not a religious guy, he's totally counter-culture and they will relate to him immediately. Chuck will allow them to separate God from religion and see God for who He is. If someone has turned away from Christianity and is exploring alternatives like new age, their spirit is longing to know the Father. This book will be a great way to get them back on the right path, to demonstrate that Jesus is who He said He was, and God is all that Jesus promised us He is.
3) If you're a Christian who hungers for more of God in your life and longs to see supernatural moves of God in your own life, then add this to your "must read" list. Chuck raises the bar on our expectations of what we can ask form God, and what we should expect to see. Supernatural should become natural!
Chuck's testimonies range from control of the weather to raising the dead. I have personally observed Chuck and friends in action and witnessed healing, deliverances, and salvations; but I had no idea until I read this book how normal miracles can be in their ministry. This is what happens on the rugged interface where the kingdom of God collides with the world. You will be hard pressed cloistered behind your walls to find anything like this.
Free Falling is filled with literary snapshots of a developing apostolic ministry. This is the spiritual history of a man who lives beyond the frontiers of "normal" and does things that might look foolish if they didn't work. Chuck has lived in radical faith, loved the outcastes, and discovered a fellowship of friends with the same heart. His stories stretch the boundaries of how far we think we can go. This book will stimulate your hunger for more.
