‘During the pandemic, governments worldwide deployed sophisticated behavioral and psychological techniques. Now that Pandora’s Box has been opened, powerful entities will undoubtedly continue to use these tools to manipulate unwary populations. The best way to be immune to these techniques is to understand when they are being deployed; if you recognize it, you can do something about it. Dodsworth and Fagan provide a compendium of manipulation in the modern world. Their book is a primer on how to survive in an age of ubiquitous propaganda – and it’s great fun to read.’ Professor Jay Bhattacharya

I recently finished reading "Free Your Mind" by Patrick Fagan, and I must say, it's one of the most enlightening books I've come across in a long time. This book is not just a read; it's an experience that empowers and educates you in ways you wouldn't expect.

From the outset, Fagan captivates the reader with his insightful perspectives on human psychology and behavior. His writing style is engaging and accessible, making complex concepts easy to understand and relate to. He delves into the intricacies of the mind with such clarity and depth that you can't help but feel a sense of awakening as you turn each page.

One of the most impressive aspects of this book is how Fagan combines scientific research with practical advice. He provides actionable steps to free your mind from the constraints of societal norms and self-imposed limitations. The book is filled with real-life examples and exercises that encourage self-reflection and personal growth.

"Free Your Mind" is more than just a guide; it's a journey toward self-discovery and mental liberation. Fagan's expertise in psychology shines through in every chapter, offering readers a unique opportunity to understand and transform their thought processes.

In conclusion, I highly recommend "Free Your Mind" to anyone seeking to understand the depths of their mind and unlock their full potential. Whether you're a student of psychology, a professional in the field, or just someone curious about the human mind, this book is a valuable resource that will leave a lasting impact on your life.

Very well written and interesting. One of the best books I’ve read in regards to research and information provided on the topic. Authors don’t talk in circles, throw word salads, or try to promote themselves.

Firstly, notice how Amazon automatically puts all the five star reviews first below this product. They WANT you to hear the positive stuff first, so you buy this book. Why would they encourage the poorer reviews to be visible? You might choose not to buy it. This is a simple example of the manipulation we experience all day, every day.

Anyhow... This is a timely, important and accurate work, and should be on all bookshelves.

My only issue is the analogy of a battlefield and the reader being a soldier (used in the Intro and chapter 1). This really feels childish, forced and amateurish, and detracts from the scholarly contents. It nearly put me off continuing to read the whole book. But if you persevere the other chapters are well worth reading.

If the authors read this reveiw I suggest scrubbing the "reader is a soldier" analogy when you publish the second edition. It's unnecessary and clichéd.

Great book. Well done and thank you for putting it together.

A thorough and helpful book. Very enjoyable to read, despite its concerning subject matter. Made me feel a bit more optimistic and had some really good advice. Seemed rather long, but very much worth the effort of getting through it all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential and timely book
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on July 24, 2023
This book is essential reading for anyone who wants to preserve or regain mental autonomy and resist the subterranean influences and nudges of companies, organisations and governments. Sovereignty over one’s mind is more vital than ever as the means of control proliferate in the modern digital age but - like seeing how the magician performs his trick - once the techniques are exposed and we start to recognise them, we can’t be fooled again. The contents take the reader through each area where our minds are under assault in this way, for example, social media, TV, symbols, Big Brother; and provide practical rule-based defences. It is a thoroughly researched book and contains many erudite and fascinating references. There are also the personal experiences of the authors which give the writing personal and unique colour.

There are so many books teaching how to manipulate and control others, it’s refreshing and valuable to have a book which provides a manual for resistance.

All together a humane and timely work which deserves to be read by anyone who values free speech, free thought and freedom.
