You have a girl, Lily and her best friend whom are always together and helps each other get through basically everything. They are raised with wealth in their blood due to whom their parents are. The pain and way that they are treated by their family are just heartbreaking. Shane decides that he just doesn't want to live his life with his father as he has. So he joins the service. It's that moment where he leaves Lily alone basically do him. The heartbreak and pain of losing her best friend are quadrupled. This book will definitely take you on an emotional rollercoaster. I have to stop there before I start dropping unknowing spoilers, lol!
This was the first book that I have read by Riley Edwards and I promise you I will be reading any and everything she has written because this book was that good!!! I can not wait until the next story!!! This better be a freaking series Darnit! Riley officially has a stalker fan in me ;)
Riley Edwards' FREE, s a heart shattering second chance love story. It is one of the best books that I have read in 2017, as it completely plays upon all your emotions, as you travel on Lily's journey. Sadness, joy, frustration and anger are but a few of the emotions that wrecked me as I read. Tears were shed and laughter was heard out loud - such an amazing book.
Riley gives her reader an alpha male that will definitely send hearts fluttering. Carter Lenox, he watches Lily each year as she visits Shane's gravesite. He listens to the stories that she tells, and experiences all her emotions, as she sits there sobbing her heart out. He never approaches her though, until the day her life is put in danger. Carter has a weakness, one that his enemy Roman is more than happy to exploit. What will happen between Lily and Lenox? Will she, once again, be hurt by a man that she has come to trust?
This was a wonderful read. One that had plenty of angst and mystery to go alongside the love and romance. Told from dual POVs, it gives the thoughts of both the main characters, an insight into their thinking and why things occurred as they did. Ms Edwards also wrote in some terrific secondary characters: Lenox' team Jasper, Clark and Levi, and Lily's friends Adam, anthony and Miss Milly. All, of whom played pivotal roles in Lily's and Lenox's lives. I can only hope that some of these characters get their own stories.
A highly recommended read.
Read and Reviewed for Reading Is Our Satisfaction.
Stand Alone: Yes
Part of a Series: No (well I don't think so but I would love to get a story for the other guys)
POV: Lily and Lenox
Steam Level: Toasty Warm
This is the first book I've read by Riley Edwards and it was really good. I whipped through it in less than a day. The suspense was intense with the tension and action ramping up. The guys and their interactions were funny and helped to cut some of the tensions to give the reader a small break before kicking up again. The violence was graphic (but not gratuitous). Overall a fantastic romantic suspense that keeps you reading way later than your bedtime. I really hope that this is only the first book in a series featuring each of the men Lenox's team.
Free is a military second chance romance.
Shane and Lily were best friends whom came from wealthy yet selfish parents. Shane joined the military, was deployed, and died or did he?
This book was full of emotions, twists and turns, love, anger, and humor.
