Here come da judge. Judge Napolitano critiques government actions through the lens of the Constitution, and finds them wanting or overtly anti-Constitutional. A true patriot, the judge points out where our government has subverted our rights and warns of the dangers of rampant anti Constitutional behavior by the govt. and the Supreme Court.

Classic Judge Andrew Napolitano... short chapters, to the point, well-informed, and well said. I will get a lot of value of this inexpensive purchase.
One note. It is a physically small book, not thin, just small (~ 5 x 7 inches). Some chapters are a few sentences, others more detailed. On the other hand, you don't need to read it all the way through in a specific order. Each chapter stands largely on its own.
Mine is now signed by the Judge... kinda cool!

This little book (and at 4.5 X 6.5" it is a compact book) gave me the immediate impression of being an inspirational even spiritual kind of edition. It is tightly bound, printed on high gloss paper, with large page headers and pictures of patriotic iconography in the open spaces throughout (things like the lettering of the Constitution, the presidential carvings on Mt Rushmore, the Statue of Liberty and DC Capitol rotunda etc...), chapter headings with flowery font and even a front page with a space to write who it is "Presented to", "From". In short it looks like a prayer book, and in a way it is; a prayer to the principles of liberty and private rights that this nation was founded on. This may sound a bit corny but its really not.
The contents are, in Judge Napolitano's consistent style, direct and to the point, concise and simple yet comprehensive. He begins with short introductory chapters on "Constitutional Basics", and "Natural Rights vs Positivism - balancing state with federal government", and then spends a bit more time on "The Declaration of Independence and our Founding Fathers - how far we have strayed". The bulk of the book is next with "Rights and Freedoms that are being violated", covered in 14 parts (such as "the right to own property"), in a Q & A format. Finally he sums it all up with a conclusion and gives an appendix of the text of the Constitution and it's Amendments.
The introductory chapters are an essential review of basic history which sadly most American's seem ignorant of these days. The section on the rights and freedoms being violated is a great collection of specific issues that are at the heart of both American history and current events and controversies. There are plenty of specific examples, dates, cases and anecdotes sited to support his insider's perspective. And Judge is a remarkable independent-minded advocate for this subject which is obviously his life-long passion. I can't imagine a better person to write this book!
All in all this book is a very high quality and carefully done production, and makes a fine copy to have for easy reference in one's own library, and as a great timeless gift for all occasions. It may also make you angry, and will probably inspire you to be part of the growing liberty movement in whatever way you can....
Highly recommended.

I ordered three of Napolitano's books. This one was worth the price of all... and the other two are redundant, mostly repetitious of the content here. Very good book, gives you an understanding of just how far our government has twisted the constitution to serve it's pursuit of power, control and money. You will learn new things here.

Judge Nap is a great resource on all things Constitutional and this book doesn't disappoint. Short essays on the various ways that the government is intruding in our lives and exceeding its mandate. The tone is conversational rather than academic an easily digestible. Highly recommended.
