... I rate this 10 out 10 because his mom doesn't just tell you what happened and the outcome, Ryan's mother explains graphically and emotionally how it felt. His experience it is a real eye opener to the world surrounding one person.
...I thought the story was very inspiring that he did not just believe what the others were saying and be defeated by their hurtful words. The story also made me think of my relationships with my friends and others and how we interact.
... This book actually made me cry. I was really touched by how far the mom went to help her son.
... I recommend this story honestly to anybody who needs it. Anybody who needs their day to be brighter needs to read this story. It gives hope to those who are being bullied.
... I feel like this book provides and teaches kids a very valuable lesson in many ways. I like how Ryan had the strength not to let this affect his future. I think it showed by making this wonderful book.
... I loved the moral of the book. Bullying is a really bad thing that could lead to suicide. This book opened my eyes to bullying. Bullying is mean. Kids laugh and are bystanders. Instead of standing around they should standup and tell the bully it's NOT okay. Or they should tell an adult like the children in Freedom. It could save a life.
...I would recommend this book to others because this is a real problem happening in society. People need to be informed on the problem. There are many stories that talk about bullying but not many have stories where both the parent and victims share their perspective. It was something I have never seen before, it was different and a very good story.
