I loved this one as well and I also stayed up late into the night to finish this book.
Colleen Coble is a favorite of mine. I love her writing style! She certainly has talent!
I loved how the author wove God and Faith into her story.
What drew me to read this book was the author and the cover of the book.
I think that what is wrong with this world is that everyone doesn't want to see what they are doing is wrong. . More often than not, people really can't see past the end of their noses.
I grieved for Lydia. I really wanted to make her see that God's way is the only way but what can I say? Some people are just hardheaded.
Birch is a delightful character! I loved the way he thought of others before himself. I didn't like some of the things he did however but war is war and it couldn't be helped.
I thank the Lord that Birch "woke up in time." to see what Hannah was trying to tell him.
Hannah is a truly amazing character! I enjoyed her because she stayed true to God or tried to. No one is perfect by any means but I really liked how she always made time for God no matter what time of day!
If we all did that, wouldn't this world be a different place? I'd like to think so!
The children were just adorable! I loved Charlotte and John! I felt joy for them and sometimes I envied them.
I recommend this book. y'all just have to read this it's so exciting!!
I purchased this book from Amazon
I love reading about lighthouses and this story has twin lighthouses. After tragedy strikes, Hannah Thomas is left the sole lighthouse keeper making a grueling job even more challenging. Hannah is a strong woman of faith and abilities as she proves over and over in the day-to-day challenges she faces. Her willful and rather self-absorbed sister, Lydia, adds even more challenges and ultimately danger.
Handsome sea Captain Birch Meredith has a secret that may bring danger as well. Hannah and Birch are my favorite characters and a few of the other characters are likable. Several characters have evil intents or greed that dictate their actions. I enjoyed the spiritual aspects of the story-line and how God directs those who seek Him. A story filled with action, suspense, dangerous situations, evil plots, joy, love, forgiveness and faith. A heartwarming story.
Reading the reviews changed my mind!
Thank you Colleen for making sure you finally had the book published! I loved the story of Hannah and Birch! The time period during the Revolutionary War and the Puritan Church was daunting for me. Freedoms Light did not disappoint. A beautiful love story, suspense, redemption, second chances and much more all woven together beautifully! Loved it!
It held my attention in the first chapter and then I just couldn’t finish the book. I was hoping to like this book because I love reading historical fiction but it was disappointing.
I’m not giving up on this author because I at least like to give authors two or three chances because I love reading Christian fiction. Overall, even thought the book cover was pretty amazing, this book just wasn’t my cup of tea.
