The digital diplay lays out pretty sizable numerals that are easy enough to see even on the black negative display. In any case, the backlight with a cool blue cast works well in low light situation.
The vibrating alarm is a cool feature. It definitely gets my attention - without getting anyone elses. It's great to use in meetings or in a class without having everyone look over at you when your alarm goes off.
The modal line of of time and date, stopwatch, two alarms, two countdown timers are useful without haveing unuseable extra geeky digital features.
I think it's a great peice, practical and sporty looking.
I'm a deep sleeper, and unfortunately the vibrate was not strong enough to wake me up, even with both alarms set. I slept right through them. My girlfriend didn't wake up, but neither did I! Also, I don't think the alarm repeats itself automatically if its ignored, it just goes off once for 20 seconds and thats it.
Other than that-- this model is a nice watch for a good price.. I would just recommend trying the silver version if you want to tell the time quickly. And if your a moderate to deep sleeper I wouldn't advise depending upon this as an alarm clock.
The black color of the screen never stops me see the time in the sun, is a little more difficult but it is not impossible to see the time.
Another feature to note is that the clock vibrates, vibration is not exaggerated nor is it as smooth as you do not percates it. This is another distinctive feature of this watch.
Only I find a negative point, is that the belts are not very durable, after a period of use as my watch for everyday use, one of the straps began to break, until completely broke, look online for a replacement but illogically, belts cost about 75% of the value of the clock which is crazy. It was disappointing that the lifetime was determined by the duration of the straps and not the clock itself.
i was looking for a vibrating watch to use instead of the traditional bed shaking alarms.
anyhow, if you do a search for vibrating watches, there are not many options out there. Bulova makes a nice one for 400 bucks but other than that, the other options were just not good looking, strong enough alarm or were really basic and even pricier.
The vibating alarm feature works great on this watch. it wakes me up easily in the morning. There is no snooze feature, but u have the option to create 2 alarms which elimiates that problem.
the band is comfty, display is easy to read, and the backlight works well.
The only thing i do not like about this watch is the backlight, if you want to change your alarm time in the nite, if you press the backlight, then the mode button to scroll to the alarm, the lite shuts off. small annoyance but i wish there was 10 sec delay.
other than that no complaints, well worth the 50 bucks price tag.
Bottom line: 50 dollars for six months of use is not a value.
